Hello ladies I'm brand new to this forum. After 10 unsuccessful rounds of clomid and letrozole, we have now been referred to start ivf. My nhs consultant said it would likely be a 'short protocol' due to my pcos. My question is about how the process starts if I don't have any normal cycles. From what I have researched it seems that you start taking stimulation meds on day 2 of a cycle, but can anyone with irregular or absent periods tell me how the process starts if no natural cycle?
Thank you.

I am currently doing short protocol due to pcos and I took norethisterone to bring on a period. You will start stims on day 3 after a baseline scan to check everything is okay!
I'm about to start short protocol. I start norethisterone on day 21 of my cycle and take this for 9 days. You then have a bleed before going in for a baseline scan. I then start my other drugs.. Fostimon, fyremadel and ovitrelle. Also going to be on progynova and ustrogesten.
I'm having short protocol for cycle 2. I have high amh 45.2 aged 38. I don't have pcos but I'm high risk of OHSS again having been on long protocol during cycle 1. X
All of the drugs seem so confusing. I'm just hoping that when I go in for my treatment planning they write everything down clearly! Good luck for cycle 2 xx
My clinic write everything down and tell me times and dates for every med. They even get you to practice the needles in the clinic so you go away feeling confident in what you're doing x
I was the same but we went straight into IVF from my last clomid round on short protocol so my period was a result of the ovulation from clomid. We got to egg collection super quick. First scan day 9, trigger day 10, collection day 12. I also have pcos but am 41. Best of luck!
