I had my day 5 scan yesterday, my right ovary has produced some healthy looking follicles but not many and nothing on my left ovary. They have put me on 75iu menopur every 2 days, for day 5, 7 and 9. Then my next scan is on day 11. 75iu sounds like a pointless amount? so I am wondering if there is anyone who has had success on this low dose previously?
Not feeling very hopeful.

Is this cycle day 5 or day 5 of stims? Are they saying JUST to take the menopur or are you also taking something else like gonal or Bemfola?
I think menopur is the same as luveris and I had 2 cycles where I added in 75ml luveris to give the follicles a bit of a push when there were a few which were a bit slower and it did make them catch up
I was taking 150ml of Bemfola at the time but when the luveris was added i was told to reduce to 75ml Bemfola so overall still taking the same ml of drugs just split over 2 different kinds. But sometimes they add the dose on top of your stimming drug so that you are taking more?
Cycle day 5. I'm not sure what 'Stims' is? sorry, I'm such a newbie at all of this. I had Clomiphene from cycle day 2 to cycle day 6. I have to inject 75iu menopur tomorrow and then again on Tuesday. Then I will return to the clinic for a scan on Thursday. I think they give less medicines on IUI than IVF which is likely why I am not on Bemfola or anything.
Ah ok - “stims” is more of an IVF term - when you take drugs to grow lots of follicles at once it’s called stimming or stims
If this is an IUI cycle then I think they are just giving your follicles a low dose of stimming drugs to give them a bit of a nudge to grow - after all in IUI the aim is NOT to get loads of loads of follicles (which is why our stims would be a much higher dose) you just need 1 or 2 of the decent size
Ahhh that makes perfect sense. I understand that over stimulation can lead to the process being abandoned so it makes sense not to give too much. My first try was abandoned due to the COVID-19 outbreak and my follicles were growing but just far too slowly for them to continue safely at the clinic.
On my IUI my dose changed a few times as they sussed out how my follicles were reacting. They would measure follicles on scan then change dose based on that x
