Ivf 3 starting now! Natural Modified IVF for low AMH

Hi everyone,

We are finally starting ivf3 for the 4th attempt at it (2 pregnancies in the months we were booked to start and one round we started stims but they just grew a cyst so was abandoned!)

I’m doing natural modified ivf so very low dose stims for my low ovarian reserve so I thought it may be interesting to some ladies on here with low amh so I’ll post the journey.

Yesterday I had my cycle day 2 Scan and it showed 7 follicles on side and 3 the other. Everything looked good this time, no cyst, and blood results were good. I was down to start bemfola daily (150iu) from day 4/5 but he decided to put me on tamoxifen daily from day 3 (today!) and to inject bemfola only every other day from day 4. Next scan is on day 6!

I’ve never really heard much about tamoxifen but dr google says it is supposed to help egg quality in low amh ladies by reducing estrogen?? And also grows follicles.

Just FYI we won’t be transferring anything this round so the tamoxifen is nothing to do with helping my lining.

We will be doing 3 rounds of this gentle ivf, hoping to collect one or two good quality eggs and any embryos in each round will be frozen at day 3. After all 3 rounds are done, all embryos will be thawed and grown to day 5, and the best one put in, and the remainder frozen again.

Sorry for the long post, I just thought it would e interesting to some low amh ladies to read what this approach is about and how it works.

This is the same protocol I had, right down to the Tamoxifen, the 3 rounds and as I recall from a previous message, the same clinic but a different branch. If you have any questions, let me know and good luck.x

Thank you, i just had a look at your posts. Did you do the 3rd cycle? I saw the first failed and the second they added tamoxifen xx

Yes, my first two cycles failed and I had nothing to freeze. A subsequent cycle was abandoned because I didn't respond to Menopur. Had another go and went back to Bemfola and Tamoxifen and they retrieved one egg. It fertilised with ICSI and then they froze it on day 3. Three months later they thawed and transferred it- still a day 3, and it implanted. It's still v.early for me and even if it doesn't work out, I would certainly try this method again.x

My two previous cycles I’ve had 4 fertilise in total out of 6 but only 2 made it to day 3 so I’m hoping this approach might help the quality xx

Hi Cymru. Is that mean you can't have fresh transfer after tamoxifen?
