I really hate this whole process... Right from the start I realised that not every transfer would end in success and I could kind of get my head round that... However I never thought I'd have so many challenges getting to a FET.
My very first transfer was a natural FET, I struggled a bit with thickness so they added in patches and I got to 8.1mm. BFN.
I had a BFP from a fresh transfer that ended in a MMC last August.
When we were ready we started again for a FET in November - I was on 2mg of oestrogen 3 times a day and clexane and they then upped the dose and added patches. Couldn't get past 6.5mm. Cancelled.
Next FET cycle they put me on 4mg of oestrogen 3 times a day with patches, aspirin and clexane and again no success. Cancelled.
This cycle I was on 20mg of Tamoxifen, 2mg of oestrogen 3 times a day, aspirin & clexane and on Friday (CD10) my lining was the best it's been at 7mm, we decided to push it until today and it's now at 6.5mm. Cancelled.
I've not been able to speak to any of the Consultants just the Nurse who wasn't particularly helpful... Just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences and had any success eventually? I'm on an Access Fertility package so I can't do another egg collection (which is paid for) until they've tried my 2 frozen embryos but right now that feels impossible. I'll be 43 at the end of March and with that, Mothers Day on Sunday and my due date next week it all feels quite hopeless right now and like my dream will never be a reality xx

Hi I’m so sorry to hear your experience. I’m in a similar boat, my lining is thin too (I have Ashermans from several d&cs following multiple mmcs). Due to have FET next week but my lining today only measured 5.9mm so delayed. Upping the oestrogen and next scan is on Friday (if not cancelled due to Corona). I’ve been told that my clinic (private) will transfer with 6mm plus. I don’t know if that’s helpful or not to hear but actually 6.5mm sounds pretty good to me! Good luck! X
Really hope your scan goes well and you can move ahead but there is so much uncertainty around everything at the moment. I spoke to my Consultant this evening (he wasn’t available today and the Nurse didn’t tell me this) but he said my lining didn’t have the triple appearance they like to see. He knows I can get that hence why he canceled. I think if I’d had that they’d have continued to monitor me. Wishing you lots of luck xxx
Hi I am sorry to hear about your setbacks. Have you tried acupuncture and taken vitamin E to help thicken your womb lining? Sending you lots of good luck. X
Hi Libsie, I totally understand how you are feeling as I am 42. Time is of the essence to us. Would you consider another natural FET as it seemed like your lining was good during the first natural FET? Best of luck! X
I have been on a very similar journey to you with the dreaded womb lining.
It’s the most frustrating thing!
The three things that I’ve found have helped are Sildenafil (generic version of viagra - used as a vaginally pessary. Viagra is really expensive. I was quoted nearly £5 a pill where as the generic Sildenafil is 30p a tablet). It attracts blood towards the womb and helped thicken lining....
The second was a holiday in the sun (not really feasible currently with Covid-19), but I went away with some girl friends for 4 days all inclusive and lay on a sun lounger next to the pool and laughed lots. I ate a load of beige coloured foods (pasta, bread, cheese - all the bad stuff i’d usually avoid) and drank (sangria in the day and gin in the eves - I wouldn’t drink normally when in cycle). I decided to put my treatment to one side for a few days and just enjoy myself. Not thinking about it/ letting it be all consuming, the heat and relaxation/laughing was an absolute game changer! It thickened 3.5mm in the week between scans.
Lastly, I agreed with my clinic that my lining just doesn’t thicken sufficiently
on their standard 12day routine/protocol, so I prep the lining more slowly and havent ended up abandoning cycle since.
