Had a hysteroscopy to remove some polyps before egg transfer. Then when I went for my scan after down regulation the clinic have said they may have caused scar tissue we might not be able to proceed. Has anyone else had this. Feel like it was supposed to help but might have made me permanently infertile. Feeling desperately low now😢

Polyp removal causing scarring?
I’ve not got any advice but I’m glad you have posted this as my specialist is trying to get me to have this whilst I’m on the prostap and I’ve booked to see him next week as I am trying to bypass it as I don’t want the whole process to be on hold because I’m waiting on the nhs. How much scar tissue has been caused? This has defo made me consider I am making the right decision. How long did you wait for the op? Xxxx
Only waited a couple of months for the hysteroscopy. It was supposed to give me a better chance if they removed the polyps. not sure how much scar tissue( if that’s what it is they weren’t sure!?!?) have to wait for a 3D scan this week to find out more.
If you have polyps they will probably get bigger if you’re having a medicated cycle then there’s the possibility you would have a cancelled cycle if they get too big anyway
It’s never straightforward is it good luck whatever you decide xxx
Your right there it’s never straight forward. My specialist is saying he’s not sure if it’s it’s a polyp or if it’s a ruffle in the womb. I have slight adenomyosis which showed shading in my womb. When are you supposed to be having transfer xxxx
If I get the go ahead this week then all being well two more weeks until transfer. Hate not knowing. So hard to try and carry on with a normal life when its all you can think about. When are you due to transfer? Xxx
I’ve got to go on prostap first so depends how my body responds to that and he will decide how long I need on that. I hate all the waiting when the specialist said about the ivf he made it sound so simple but things just keep going wrong although we did get good embryos which I’m happy about. But it’s nit running as smoothly as I thought. I really hope you get your transfer done soon. How long was you down regulating for? Xxxx
This is will be my second time. Everything ran smoothly the first time but still got a bfn. So just feel like one problem is causing another this time. But hopefully it means they are all solvable and will give a better chance of success. Trying to think positive!! Down reg was two weeks last time. But just over this time as my lining was not getting thin enough. But as it was only on one side they now think it’s scarring from the hysteroscopy. Hopefully it doesn’t stop this cycle for me. Congrats on the good embryos xxx
I've had two surgeries for polyp removal my first ICSI after was chemical pregnancy 2nd ICSI another polyp removal 7 months before and requested an endo scratch, worked, got bfp and had C-section with him. Also frozen transfer after him with endo scratch again and success again.
Hey, I had surgery a few years ago to remove a massive fibroid that was blocking my tubes. The consultant warned I could have scarring and may not be able to fall pregnant, or may miscarry. Here I am a few years later after failed ivf with a near 11 month little boy😀xx
Thank you for the positive reply. Means a lot xxx
