I've just had my hysteroscopy done and I'm so upset as the doctor only removed polyps and didnt do a scratch. He said my lining was ok but the procedure felt very rushed and he literally took 30 secs to remove the polyps. I should have asked at the end but I was in alot of pain. He also said my womb is tilted backwards, would this make it harder to conceive naturally? Do you think I may not have needed a scratch or is it good for everyone to help with implantation? Just tried to phone but they have all finished now x

Hysteroscopy - Polyp removal
Hi Littlepeax,
I’ve been told by my last two doctors that scratches are not worth doing so try not to stress out. You got your polyps removed which is the main thing. I know how painful hysteroscopies are so big hugs and look after yourself today xx
Oh and tilted wombs are really common! So many of my friends have been told they have one and have had perfectly normal pregnancies xxx
Hi I can’t help with info on a scratch but I do know you won’t have problems conceiving with a titled womb I have a tilted womb and have successfully carried children I think I’ve had it since birth x
Hi lovely, the very act of removing the polyp can act as a scratch as the lining of your womb is being irritated... basically the same thing. Don’t worry! 👍🏼 x
Hi Littlepea
I’ve just been told I need to have this done. Did you have your done on the nhs and was you waiting long? I was going to go private but they aren’t doing any treatments with COVID and saw your post so thought I’d ask.
Thanks in advance xx
Hi Sarah, I'm with my local NHS hospital but am now having to pay privately for this cycle (first through NHS didnt work) I was booked in for a hysteroscopy before covid19 outbreak and they had to cancel my appointment so they phoned me last week and said they are seeing normal patients again and booked me in for today x
Hi littlepeax, did they give you anaesthetic? I spoke to my GP yesterday and she is referring me for a hysteroscopy, I'm having my transfer end of Sept so I'm hoping it will be done before then, the hospital said they are waiting for government advice about when they can start procedures again. I'm wandering whether I need a scratch too??? I'm definitely opting for embryo glue this time xx
Hi Claire, they gave me two injections in my womb one was to numb me but I was awake the whole time (they said one was adrenaline 🤷♀️) it was quite quick though so not too bad. If your having your transfer done in Sep it's better to have your hysteroscopy closer to then apparently ♥️💫 x
That's good to hear that it was quick,I had a biopsy last year and that was really painful. I'm hoping I could have it end of Aug,would be better timing wise. Have you decided to go ahead with a scratch? xx
Hi Claire,
You can push to have it under general anaesthetic if you’ve had one before and it was really painful. I had one hysterscopy where they just took a biopsy and I was awake, it was really painful so they put me under for my polyp removal xx
