Second cycle failed

Our second cycle has failed. First cycle short protocol on Bemfola 225 resulted in 9 eggs collected, 4 mature and none fertilized.

Second cycle long protocol on Buserelin then menopur 5 eggs collected all mature but only one fertilized using ICSI which was transferred day 5 early blast

Feeling like I am losing hope. Any advise to improve egg quality? Do supplements like COQ10 and DHEA work? Any positive stories using either or both?

I don't have any experience with this or any advice to offer, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out. I hope and pray that the next one does.

We had two failed icsi. First with nothing to transfer and second loads of eggs,good fertilisation but only 1 left to transfer which unfortunately resulted in bfn. I am now taking a break and trying to strengthen by body and improve egg quality. I am taking a sh... loads of supplements. Where I took nothing last two attempts. So only time will tell if they worked. But better to try something and everything rather then nothing. I'm taking CoQ10, vit E, D and C, Omega 3 with zinc, Proceive high strenght and Chromium to help to control sugar levels. I am going to reflexology and acupuncture once a week. I am currently waiting for my doc to confirm if I need DHEA. I'm not sure if you can take it if you don't really need it. I'm trying to keep it positive and control my stress levels which probably is the hardest part of it all. I hope this gives you some help, advice or even an idea of what way you want to approach your next cycle. I wish you all the luck xx

Have you spoken to your doctor about your results? Are they sure it’s definitely egg related and not sperm? Seems like you got a better batch of mature eggs this time around on the longer protocol but still a low fertilisation so I’d definitely be asking some questions about sperm quality.

I know how disappointing a failed cycle can be, you will pick yourselves up and find the hope you need to carry on. Sending you big hugs today xxx

Our second failed a few weeks ago. Similar to you guys we didn’t get any fertilise the first round. 2nd round 4 fertilised and only 1 made it to day 5 but didn’t take.

A lot of girls on here have been super supportive and recommended a book called “it starts with the egg” which talks about DHEA and coq10 (which I started taking before my second cycle). The book arrived yesterday so I just started it. I think I’m going to try the DHEA. Altho I’ve only started the book it’s quite obvious how strongly she feels about DHEA.

You might wanna go and have a look at the answers from my post. As I said so many girls were wonderful with me.

Hi Tray, so sorry this was not successful. We had tried ICSI ivf first attempt and have a beautiful baby boy. I promise you that ICSI can work. My husband had slightly low sperm count and I had slightly low AMH levels. We both took supplements. I had pregnacare and he also had supplements (I can’t remember the name but it’s a sachet).

Do not give up hope. ICSI does work. Maybe we were just lucky on the first try.
