Hope everyone doing ok on this crazy journey 😊😌, I just had a meds related question hoping someone may be able to help with:
I'm in the middle of buselerin downregs ahead of my 4th transfer. Have just finished a vial of Suprecur which was left over from my last round.
Tomorrow I will start a new vial which I picked up from an independent pharmacy last week but the new one is Suprefact. I noticed yesterday on the packet that it says'for use in Men only'. But on reading the full ingredients, they are exactly the same!?
Anyone else out there been given this version of the medicine?
Cheers,
Hannah

I don’t have any personal experience as I’ve only ever had suprecur but I’m pretty sure suprecur is just the brand name so as long as the drug is still buserlin then you’ll be fine.
I know someone mentioned there being a shortage of suprecur so that might be why you have a different brand but should have exactly the same effect.
On my frozen cycle my estrogen support was swapped from Elleste to Progynova halfway through due to a shortage. Both are the same drug though, just different brands.
Yes they are very similar forms of buselerin, if not the same. The only difference I see is that Suprecur is intended to treat endometriosis/ fertility whereas Suprefact is intended to treat prostate cancer.
Good point as there is a shortage as you say. I am not sure how good i feel about taking meds away from sufferers of diseases(!) but this a decision for the pharmacy supply to manage.
I will go ahead with it tomorrow morning anyway but will probably ring the pharmacy that gave me it to check.
A shortage of the elleste and change of meds must be disconcerting when you are already have a treatment plan, how did you get on?x
Honestly it’s been fine. My sister is a pharmacist so she is great for assurance!
I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant so it’s worked fine so far 😊
I’m sure the difference in names for Buserlin is purely so they can market and charge a different amount for it. Pharmaceuticals are clever bastards!x
