I'm on day 4 of Buserelin on Long Protocol for our first fresh cycle. It was literally 2 and a half months ago that we had our training for the injections and were talked through everything (we got delayed by a couple of months due to various reasons), but I am SURE I don't remember them saying anything about bleeding when on Buserelin. I haven't started bleeding yet but apparently I can expect to start around day 7 from what I've researched.
My questions are: Is it just like a normal period? Will I get normal period syptoms? How long should the bleed last? Do I need to let the clinic know? My periods usually last 7-8 days and if I start on day 7 I will still be bleeding for my first down reg scan on day 12...will they still be able to do the scan?

Buserelin is meant to bring on a bleed (puts you into the menopause) so your lining is nice and thin to start stims which will then build your lining and bring on your follicles. So yes you should expect a bleed, we're all different regarding bleeding though. I didnt get much bleeding but it is like a period, mine was very crampy....not sure if that's because its a forced bleed. You dont have to let the clinic know if you bleed, they will scan you regardless of bleeding and go from there.xx
Hi pregnantpause. Yes, they will still do the scan and take measurements to check how thick/thin your womb lining is. Try not to worry about it, as it is what happens. Good luck! Diane
