Treatment summary shows I had developed another polyp during FET..do you think this could have affected pregnancy?

I just received my treatment summary from the private clinic. They found a 1.2cm polyp during my fresh cycle so I had to have it removed and freeze all.

I then went on to have a FET which was successful but ended in a loss at around 6 weeks. I was reading the treatment summary and it says 6-7mm polyp shown on scan but given its size will continue with FET.

They never mentioned this to me at all..so now Im wondering do you think this could have had any impact on the early loss?

Of course Ill ask about it before we do our next FET but I just find it strange that they never even mentioned it to me this time.

My clinic told me that they wouldn’t do my transfer until my latest polyp(s) were removed. That said mine were all over a cm so not big but slightly bigger which may affect plan. They said the evidence isn’t really available about whether polyps does/doesn’t affect implantation etc but it might so they remove them. Many women conceive and carry naturally with polyps so it’s not prohibitive. Equally if it does affect it they’re not sure why. ‘It might’ is probably the answer you’ll get. I hope they can give you something clearer. X

thanks for the info..im just a bit annoyed because I feel like they hid I this time but also annoyed because now im wondering if the NHS clinic will make me wait on another removal before doing my FET. Time will tell I guess..thanks xo

Yes I found it incredibly frustrating waiting for removals (3!) but also I hope it will be worth it if they do. I’m sorry you’re going through this- the set backs and bumps in this journey are so hard. Sending hugs. X

I had a polyp removed (we were doing a frozen round anyway so they said it was advisable to remove it before transfer) but the doctor also mentioned that it was sitting right where the embryos usually implant so it would very likely affect our chances. Maybe if yours was small and in a different place they thought it wouldn’t affect your pregnancy? Agree they should have told you though. If it grew where your embryo was implanted then maybe it could have caused your loss? Hope you’re recovering physically and mentally xxx
