Hi all, I'm due to start my FET cycle in a few weeks and had my baseline scan today. Everything was fine apart from that they found a very small polyp in my lining. The nurse phoned earlier to explain that having spoken to the consultant that they are not concerned about the polyp it's only 5mm and doesn't see any reason why my cycle can't go ahead. I know this should be good news but I've read quite a lot about polyps and implantation and worried it won't work. Has anyone experienced something similar and had a positive result?

FET going ahead with 5mm polyp
Hi Harlem25,
Yes I’ve got a small one, I had a hysteroscopy to remove it but by the time we started IVF it had come back. It got mentioned every time I had a scan but I was always told it was nothing to worry about.
I’m currently pregnant so it definitely didn’t stop implantation.
I would say if your doctor is happy for you to go ahead then there is no reason you can’t but of course it’s your decision. Good luck! xxx
I had a polyp during my last FET and it failed (6mm) but what’s difficult is that they can’t be conclusive about why it didn’t work. Could have been the polyp, could have been embryo abnormalities, could have been not enough progesterone.... so I’m having mine removed before my next round as a precaution.
I would go with whatever the consultant recommends as they should know best!
Good luck xx
Hi, I am interested in this too! I constantly have polops. Have them removed and they grow back:(. Just started a new cycle so will check if there is one there!
Hi Harlem, I had a 5mm polp when I had my first FET last Dec. The doctor who did the transfer said it was OK to go ahead with the FET but the pgs tested embryo didn't take. I got the polp removed in January just to be on the safe side. If I were you, I would double-check with the consultant to see where it is located. Good luck!
Thanks Dreambaby.
Hello,
Yes I had one removed before I Started IVF and then another one came back, they checked it all the way through my IVF journey and said it was nothing to worry. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and I still have a few dotted around but they are not worried about them.
Wishing you the best of luck
xx
Thank you, I think it was quiet small only about 3mm I think? xx
I have one that they found on my cervix during the transfer. The doctor was t worried about it. I’m now 8 weeks pregnant
I had 2 polyps (6mm) found on my scan during stims, at the time I was worried sick about it as like you heard it can affect implantation. My consultant wasn’t worried about them.
They didn’t effect implantation, I’m 16 weeks pregnant now with twins.
I think it depends on where they are and how big they are xx
Thank you all for your help it’s great to hear so many positive stories, it gives me hope. We have our FET plan now, ready to start on my next cycle in a few weeks. 🤞xx
