Neupogen wash

Prayingforafamily profile image

Hi does anyone have any experience with the neurogen wash and know where I could have this. I have lining issues waiting for a FET but my lining won’t get above 5mm despite 10mg estrogen support. I have heard about this wash but my clinic looked blank when I asked about it. I’m in East Midlands x

Sorry you are struggling with your lining. I read your post as was intrigued and it looks like it’s actually a Neupogen wash, maybe you know this and it’s a typo but just in case this helps

I personally dont know of anyone in the UK having had Neupogen wash in the UK. One of my friends that is having treatment in Poland and they do it there. I think a few of the london clinics use it but you may have to ask around and Ive no idea what it costs.xx I'll PM you the clinic that I know that does it in London, not sure if they accept self referrals for these things but worth an ask!xx

Hi I can’t help with info on neupogen wash but I had trouble with thin lining on several cycles and using viagra really helped, might be worth a try if you haven’t used it before, let me know if you want any more info and good luck x

Thanks. I have mentioned this to the clinic so hopefully they may put this in place. Do you mind me asking your lining measurements before and after?

Of course I don’t mind, it’s a long one though... I had a fresh and frozen cycle where my lining barely reached 7mm, neither worked ☹️ I then went to private clinic and after investigation scans they advised using viagra as my lining was only 3.7mm and wasn’t really doing much at all, the first cycle we added in viagra and my lining got to about 8.6mm which is amazing for me! Sadly had nothing to transfer, second and third cycle tried viagra again and got to 7.5 and 8.4 sadly neither cycle worked but due to my age we weren’t getting many embryos, I also have a blood clotting issue, high antibodies and low thyroid which wasn’t helping.

Then had a surprise natural pregnancy but had a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks. Decided to try donor eggs as the chances were so much higher for us (I’m 42) first attempt my lining got to about 8mm but no bfp and on the fet attempt with our final embryo I used the viagra tablets vaginally instead of orally (can get pessaries some places now I think) there were less side effects and I think my lining was 9.6mm which is the best it’s ever been, it worked and I’m now 21 weeks pregnant.

Don’t give up hope, I know how hard it is and there’s so many things you can try but just pick the ones that make sense to you, I would advise testing for antibodies, thyroid and blood clotting disorders if you haven’t already, if I can help with anything else just ask x

Thanks so much for this and congratulations on your pregnancy. I had my thyroid checked at my doctors and all was well but not tested for the others, did you have those tests at your Doctors or private clinic?

Thank you, still anxious but trying to enjoy it.

I had blood tests done at the clinic I think it was level 2 Chicago immunology tests, it cost about £2k and took a couple of weeks to get results but as it gave some answers and treatments to help with our previously unexplained fertility diagnosis it was worth it. My GP wasn’t really interested and kept telling me my thyroid tsh level was fine at around 4.5 but clinic said they like the level to be under 2.5 for fertility treatment and started me on medication x

Yes I read that about thyroid. Mine was 2.2 so should be ok. 2k .. blimey!! Best get saving, at 40 we are self funded so all our savings has gone on ivf already x

I know it is expensive, we kind of weighed it up against the amount of money and trauma that we could go through with no answers, I like to have a plan and know what I’m up against as much as possible and knew that an unexplained diagnosis just wasn’t right and there was more to it.

We’re now skint with no savings but it will all be worth it, we were lucky that the final fet worked as we’d agreed that was it as we couldn’t afford anymore treatment and I couldn’t face going through it all again either.

Fingers crossed you find your answers and it all works out for you x

Yes definitely. I have 4 good quality embryos frozen so there is the fact that you want the best chance possible and check everything you can so I totally understand.

Definitely agree with checking your TSH, mine was 4.96 and my clinic wanted mine under 2!xx

I may go get it checked again then. Mine was 2.2 and clinic said that was fine

That's probably ok to be fair!! most clinics say under 2.5.xx

Hi, I have just come across your post and I wanted to know if you are still looking to get Neupogen wash done? I have had it done but it's not something that clinics recommend however as I am private, my consultant does. let me know if you are still interested in this

Thanks for your response. I did ask my consultant for this as I am self funded private but it is not something they do as they don’t feel it makes much difference... did you see any difference? I have been looking to see if there is anywhere in the uk where I could have this done but no where unless I’m a patient if there’s unfortunately
