So I’m gearing up for a medicated natural transfer this month. Went today (I think day 8 of cycle as hard to tell as had constant bleeding since hysto that’s now stopped) and lining only at 3.7mm. Have started on progynova today but I doubt my slow, thin lining is going to develop much before ovulation. My largest follicle was 15mm so prob day 8 is about right. Got to go for lining scan when I ovulate but got a feeling it’s going to be a cancelled cycle again....almost the same time as last year!
Lining issues again 🙄: So I’m gearing... - Fertility Network UK
Lining issues again 🙄
Lining is the most frustrating thing!! So sorry to hear your having issues. Have you just had cuts done? Is that meant to help improve thickness?
Really wish you all the best. Progynova & Evorel patches don’t work for me at all, but I respond quite well to menopur (stim fresh transfer). Also have been trying sildenafil and have been on blood thinners & high dose of vit E for months. Also have tried GCSF infusions this time, tbc if that makes a difference.
Thanks for your response! 😊 its an ongoing issue I seem to have with every cycle 🙄 thinking about it my lining was also better on fresh cycles so maybe the menopur works better for me too! Yeah I’ve just had the cuts done, but not sure if they help with thin lining. They also did a mild d&c but I read last night that this can thin lining 😬
The tablets work better for me than patches, last year on 3 consecutive months I bled early on the patches and it never got above 3mm, so eventually I asked to go more natural and add in the tablets and that seemed to work better. Got to 7mm on my transfer that resulted in bfp but that later turned into a MMC 😢 so see how the next few days pans out! Xx
Aww I’m zorry to hear that although day 8 seems quite early ?
My lining scan is usually day 14 so I guess that’ll be your ovulation scan. I didn’t feel right on progynova but evorel seems ok for me.
However I have never had lining issues - always lovely and thick and always BFN and early bleeds 😕 I’ve seen many stories of thin linings and poor quality embryos and sometimes it doesn’t mke sense but it just happens !
I don’t mean to sound insensitive but just to maybe give some peace of mind I hope!
Thanks for your reply! They scan me early because of my lining issues, and because my protocol is different to most people they then see if progynova is needed. I don’t respond at all to patches but have never had any issues with the tablets. But still can’t get over the magic 7mm unless it’s a fresh cycle. It’s so frustrating!
I’ve read recently that some people just don’t have many oestrogen receptors which then causes thin lining and think I must be one of those!
Thank you for your response, especially as you don’t suffer with this and I hope you get your bfp soon 😊xx
Had my lining scan today...it’s only 5.2mm waiting to hear when I will have to go back. I’m just hoping it gets thicker!
Are you doing a FET? Have you had your update? I hope if you have all is good. How many days into your cycle are you? It’s so frustrating isn’t it 😟xx
I have everything crossed for you that your lining thickens up nicely xx
Thank you Cocker 😊 how are things with you? Xx
It's so frustrating this part of the process. I struggle to get the lining of the womb thick enough and have to use Progynova from day 2. They upped my dose this time and I was 6mm on day 9 and 8.2mm by day 12 so it has made a huge difference as last time it was touch and go whether my lining would get up to the right thickness last transfer. I hope you do get up to the right level soon but if you don't there are things they can do. The side effects of progynova are not great but manageable and some of us just can't do a natural FET. Good luck whatever happens xx
Thank you Hollie 😊 I have to have a medicated natural cycle as I just don’t respond well at all to a Medicated cycle which is why I start progynova at day 8 as will still ovulate naturally then.
Just read your post! Brilliant news re your embies 😊 hoping they progress into your little bubba! Xx
Oh blasted lining!! Its the absolute pits having these issues. The bleeding wont have helped after hysteroscopy however if its stopped then that's good news. Hoepfully the progynova will help and Im not sure if you've been on it long enough but I was under the impression that its supposed to stop ovulation or maybe you're just on a low dose. Someone yesterday suggested l-arginine for lining issues, had a good rumage around and it looks promising alongside vit E so Im gonna try that for next time. Really hoping your next scan shows an improvement, fingers crossed! Ive stuck this link in for you to have a read.xx

Hi Cinders! Just seen your transfer is postponed too! 😟 damn linings!!
My protocols pretty unique really, I start progynova at day 8 as then it still allows you to ovulate naturally as is just meant to help the lining. I’ve started on the ovulation sticks and once I get a smiley face I also take a trigger (as this is meant to help implantation) they will then have me in for another scan after trigger to check my lining. If ok, transfer will be 6 days after trigger, if not this round will be cancelled.
I could kick myself as for all my other rounds I have been taking l’argine and well and vitamin E, but with everything happening in Athens, taking the antibiotics and some other tablet they gave me I completely forgot to start the l’argine, so started on them again last night after digging them back out as stopped taking them after my last bfn. I definitely think they help though!
I’m now having issues with clinics 🙄 Athens are saying that as I tested positive tor hidden c that if I get a bfp I need to take another course of antibiotics. However my clinic are saying that because there are no clinical trial papers in this country for the hidden c test that they won’t prescribe the tablets as it’s not their protocol. Athens are saying then can prescribe me them but my clinic have got to agree to it, as it’s their protocol I’m under!! Stuck between a rock and a hard place with that one!
If my cycle gets cancelled I’m not too bothered this month as can then enjoy Xmas, but if it goes ahead, then least I’d know before Xmas day what the result is!
Hope you are ok with yours being cancelled. I got high strength l’argine from Holland and Barrett! Xx
Ahhhh I see, I wondered if that was the case if you start on progynova later in the cycle....all makes sense! Well hope that lining gets nice and juicy! ha ha ha Yeah I get what you're saying about it being cancelled, not the end of the world at this time of year. Im ok about mine being abandoned, long story but it was my own fault so cant moan although I did have a hissy fit at myself for causing myself a delay.....as you do. Ha ha ha I haven heard of having to take more antibiotics.....see if Blondyboo can help with that one, Im sure she had hidden C and went onto a successful pregnancy. Might help to hear what she did. Good luck.xx
Oh no! What did you do..or not do? Least you know the reason though! My smiley face should appear in the next couple of days but I’m hoping it’s sat or sun to give the progynova a few extra days to work! Haha! Will keep you posted! Xx
Ha ha ha Well I was a bit of a div! Basically AF was a bit wrecked after last fail, 43 days then did mock transfer in my luteal phase around day 24 which went ok but had cramping and bleeding afterwards then a bit more a couple of days later.....got what I thought was a late period 14 days after that but didn't come to much and old blood but was dying to get started meds....14 days after that got a real period....it turns out that the mock brought my period on early and I just thought it was the mock that gave me cramps & bleeding....that mid cycle show was nothing so obviously ovulated. So had to come off meds and abandon. Feel a bit of a twat tbh🙈🤣....I mean who gets you their 40s and is confused about what is and what isn't a period!!😂
🤞🤞keeping everything crossed for You!!xx
Hi there... my lining also did not grow much at all after moving from medicated to natural preparation. But in my case I also had stopped ovulating. If you have been bleeding it might be a reason. In the end I had to go back to medicated because my periods were too irregular and unreliable. I wish you very good luck... and you never know, with lining issues. It might still grow now that you are on progynova. Just a bit tricky to time things with also an ovulatory follicle, although not impossible. Fingers crossed!! xx
Thanks Vannagio! I hope your feeling ok?
Lining issues are so frustrating aren’t they!
I don’t respond well at all too medicated cycles, my lining never gets over 5.3 with medicated! So mine has to be more natural with progynova thrown in to try and help as patches just don’t work for me.
I’m kicking myself for not starting my l’Argine tablets again as think they really helped last time.
I have to use ovulation sticks as my cycles are very regular, then when I get a smiley face I take a hcg trigger and transfer is 6 days later. Although they are going to scan be after trigger to check my lining to confirm if transfer will go ahead or not. On a few cancelled cycles last year whilst medicated my lining actually shrunk back which baffled them all!
I’ve read recently that some women just don’t have many oestrogen receptors in their womb which causes thin lining and beginning to think I’m one of those!
Thanks again for your response xx
I hope not. That’s rubbish. Fingers crossed for you xx
