How long for ovidrel trigger and HCG wash to leave your system?

Hi everyone,

I foolishly did a digital urine pregnancy test at 5 days after my transfer today which was positive. However now I'm thinking it is probably because of the ovidrel trigger injection I gave myself 12 days ago on March 10th or it may be the HCG wash that was done the day of transfer this past Monday - exactly 5 days ago.

And yes I know I should have just waited until my official test day next Friday but this is my transfer #8 so after seven failed transfers I'm finding it so hard to wait! If there are any other ladies here who have had an HCG wash day of transfer and did a trigger injection for a modified natural cycle - when were you able to get an accurate positive home pregnancy test?

Thank you and wishing all of you strong women doing IVF success!

In terms of having a modified natural cycle with an ovitrelle trigger, I got a true positive 8 DP5DT, however I hadn't tested till then so it's possible if I had it could have been earlier. I didn't have an HCG wash though. Wishing you all the best of luck.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your experience. I will have to see if I get another positive in a few days and do my best to not be too hopeful as I read it could be 10-14 for ovidrel trigger to be eliminated. As for HCG wash - theoretically it should have been eliminated already as I'm reading it could take 2 to 3 days. I'm trying to remain hopeful and realistic at same time. Will gladly accept any good luck you can send my way!

It took 14 days for ovitrelle to leave my system, but I think that was a bit unusual, it's shorter for most people I asked. Wishing you lots of luck and a darker test in a couple of days ☘️🤞🏼💜

Thanks- I also read it could take 14 days so trying not to get my hopes up until then. Will gladly accept all the luck you can send my way that it's a true positive.

the trigger shot is probably gone as it’s 10-14 days but not sure in the HCG wash as Ive never had that. I am an early tester and I totally get it there are no prizes for waiting until the made up test day of your clinic (and it doesn’t change the outcome) so test all you want lovely! I would suggest maybe using a pink dye test though and that way you can see if it’s getting darker or lighter or the triggers leaving the system or a pregnancy implanting 🤗 fingers crossed it’s the latter for you! 💜🫶🏻 xx

Thanks for the suggestion - I used a digital test with a sensitivity of 25 HCG yesterday so would need to get some test strips to see if they get darker or lighter. I don't want to get my hopes up because I know it's still early and it could be a false positive or a ch

Thanks- yes I'm waiting for my test strips to arrive in the mail so I can see the progression. Hoping the lines get darker and I have a good beta result on my official test day

Hi. I've not had the hcg wash but got faint positives 10 days after IUI with ovitrelle shot (positive pregnancy tests) not had a baby yet due to MCs but the shot was out of my system by then and the lines got darker as i got to day 14 which was actual test day! I am an early tester as i find it helps my anxiety. I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck and I hope it is a true big fat positive! I am keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for you. Sending you sticky baby dust. X ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes I know it's still early so trying to balance my hope with the fact that it could be a false positive or a chemical pregnancy. Thanks for the baby dust! Sending you also my best wishes that you also get to have a healthy baby.

depends on your dosage? I took 10,000 zizafert and read it takes about a day to metabolise 1000, so 10 days or more. I tested out my trigger and it finally showed as negative on day 4 & 5 after transfer. Positive albeit so faint on 6dpt

I thought that the ovidrel trigger injection would have been eliminated by day 10 so at 12 days my positive digital pregnancy test would have been a true positive. Now I think it was still the trigger because the digital positive was for a higher threshold of 25 u HCG and today the test strip I used at day 13 after the ovidrel had a barely noticeable second line. The pregnancy test strip is supposed to detect at least 10 units of HCG so clearly my levels of HCG are dropping . Ugh..this is my eighth FET and I will continue my meds until the official test day but unless a miracle happens I'm fairly certain this cycle failed.
