Unfortunately my first FET was unsuccessful. I spoke to the consultant and they are advising additional progesterone support for the second attempt. I’ve ready some things about pineapple etc but is there anything I should actually be doing isn’t he build up to the transfer? I’m taking folic acid and vitamin D but that’s all the clinic have advised. Diet wise, should I cut caffeine and alcohol before the transfer itself? Any help would be appreciated! Xx

If you're trying to do everything then definitely cut alcohol and caffeine. Progesterone is really important to demand constant blood tests on the lead up and after transfer. There is no real proof that pineapple or pomegranate juice really do anything but why not just do it anyhow. Having the ERA test now would be paramount if I was doing a second fet as you need to ensure the timing for transfer is right. Best of 🍀
I had a case where progesterone was put up for me because I has previously had an early miscarriage on our first round and they feel my lining may not have been thick enough and came away..... my advice for you is to carry on as you normally would (maybe cut down on caffeine and alcohol) but just relax and not necessarily do it to the T of the textbook. I dont think theres any scientific evidence to the pineapple thing, my friend drank gallons of the stuff and it never worked for her on their 3 rounds. Me on the other hand just continued as normal(ish) I got pregnant on 2 out of 3 of my rounds of ivf and they were when I was just being me and not putting pressure on myself... I now have a gorgeous 7 month old boy! I hope this helps x
Thank you so much. I know, I didn’t really think pineapple would do anything but it’s just trying to cling on to something. I had a clot on day 3 after the FET so I think the consultant maybe thinks that it was a similar situation to yours in that maybe the lining wasn’t thick enough to support it. Fingers crossed for next time and trying to relax!! When you say a round, how many transfers is that? Xx
Unfortunately I have suspected pcos so they got loads of eggs but only a few that were mature enough to fertilise. I also shared my eggs on the first 2 rounds. I only managed 3 transfers, first being 2 embryos, 2nd a frozen as I had hyper stimulation so had to freeze the embryo until I was better and then 3rd transfer again only 1 and he is now my gorgeous boy.....
Yes the relaxing part is easier said than done but it really is the best advice there is x
