I had a natural FET yesterday, I am a little worried as on all websites I am reading I still should be taking the progesterone suppository, the nurses told me there was no notes from my consultant for me to do this. I have the suppository at home left over from my ivf in Oct, but never got to transfer my embryos because I suffered severe OHSS so had to wait. Has anyone done it totally naturally or do you think I should start using them?
thanks

Hi Grace, I have done a natural Fet and didn’t take any progesterone nor did I have any scans, I just tracked ovulation. It did feel abit weird after having done a fresh cycle with the pessaries but I was told that your body will naturally produce what it needs once the Little embryo has implanted. It worked for me but sadly I miscarried. I wouldn’t take them unless you have been advised to my your consultant. Believe in your body it can do amazing things! X
I had a completely unmedicated FET. Unless you have specifcally been told to take the pessaries (and they would have given you new ones, not just relied on the fact you have leftovers) I would not take anything.
Is there an out of hours number you can call? One of the nurses at my transfer called to check before she let me leave the hospital.
Good luck - and hope you get the info you need asap.
Hi Grace, I probably wouldn’t take any medication I had at home unless I’d been advised to by my clinic. I would however get back in touch with the clinic if you are unsure about this. I am sure the nurse could follow it up with the consultant and get back to you.
Wishing you the very best of luck for your two week wait xx
Hi Grace, I had a completely natural FET with no drugs or intervention apart from one scan to check that my lining was thickening up and I now have a gorgeous 5 month old girl. All I took was folic acid and vit D. I got loads of great advice from people on here, but one of the things that always stuck in my mind was that your body naturally knows what to do once the embryos are in there, as Gem1982 said. Wishing you the very best of luck. Xxx
