Stopping meds after FET

I’m due to stop cyclogest on Friday at 9w my protocol said to continue progynova until 12w but 2 nurses have both told me that I can stop both together when I stop cyclogest. Should I reduce gradually or just stop? I’m on 2 x 400mg cyclogest and 4 x 2mg progynova per day. I will have about 10 cyclogest and loads of progynova left over. I’m nervous to stop has everybody been ok on stopping? X

I’m sure that if they say it’s ok then it probably is but if it gives you more reassurance then wean off them slowly. I did, I went down to every other day until I ran out xx

I had to stop cold turkey because I ran out and couldn't get the clinic to return my calls because they'd discharged me (great service!!) I was meant to carry on until 14 weeks but stopped both at 12.5 weeks and was absolutely fine 👍🏼

Most people seem to say 12+ 9 weeks just seems so early but I’m going to do as they say and make today my last full day x

The clinic are the experts lovely, they wouldn't ask you to stop if they felt you needed to carry on x

My fertility clinic told me to stop at 12weeks. I was on progynova 4 x 2mg perday, utrogestan 4 x 200mg per day and Lubion injection 25mg per day. My private OBGYN also told to stop everything at 12weeks except I should continue to do 1 x 200mg Utrogestan per day until 14weeks. The fact is that 24h after having stopped all the meds I had an important bleeding. Because of that doc increased the dose of Utrogestan to 2 x 200mg per day.

Thank you for your reply that is scary to have a bleed after stopping. Hope all is ok now? I’ve spoken with my clinic I’m going to use all my cyclogest today and stop progynova at the same time x

No offence to nurses but listen to your consultant. So many times the nurses at my clinic have advised something and when I've double checked it's been wrong! If your Dr wants you to continue with Progynova then do it. I would try and speak to the consultant and have her answer all your questions. I'd also be nervous about coming off cyclogest but I think the placenta takes over after week 9 so you don't need it anymore? Double check if you ease of it or cold turkey

Thank you I have spoken with them and rechecked my protocol and I’m going to use up the cyclogest that I have x

I took full dose until last day of 10th week, then 1/2 dose from first day of 11th week, then nothing from first day 12th week. My clinic (overseas) said to stop at 8 weeks for both, but 1/2 dose in last week, however my consultant (UK) advised me to stop at 12w as described above.

Hi. Initially, my clinic said to continue until 8 weeks, then extended that to 12 weeks (I had a minor bleeding and some back pain). My obgyn said to stop sooner. Both told me to decrease the dose gradually, but obgyn said more quickly. I did something in between :) I was on 6 pessaries a day and drecreased 1 each 3-4 days. All good, no issues afterwards.
