I have been for my fertility tests preparing for iui and found that my amh is low at 2.5 (4.5-58). They say I need a hycosy test to check for the blockages. My questions are;
Where can I get this done low cost quicker than the NHS?
Should I even bother with iui if my amh is so low?
Thanks in advance

I’m not sure about the low AMH but I know ubiqionol is great for improving egg health. Also hycosy on the NHS is free or else you’d have to go private and I don’t think it’s any less than £450, can’t they expedite you an appointment? Good luck x
Thanks for your response. The clinic are saying they can do the hycosy straight away for £450 or I can go NHS and wait is around 16 weeks x I dont know what to do -im already paying so much for the iui x
Sorry to hear about your AMH, when I first went for fertility investigations my AMH was 1.8. I took a supplement called DHEA (only available online) and it did improve my AMH.
IUI was the only option from my clinic. They wouldn’t offer me IVF with my own eggs. Have a look at the success rates for IUI, even for someone with a good AMH they are very poor.
I felt it was too expensive a gamble for me and so I made the decision to move to donor eggs but I know this isn’t for everyone.
There are clinics that offer mild or natural IVF for women with low AMH where they just take the one egg you ovulate naturally in a month and try to fertilise that. You could look at that.
I would get the hycosy booked with the nhs and then call to check for cancellations. Save as much money as possible, incase you need it for something else. You can always change your mind x
Hi, my amh was also low at 4.2, the clinic I am with said it’s not worth going with iui and go straight to ivf. With a low amh it’s likely that some months the egg released is immature or not released at all so iui is unlikely to work (or so I’m told). I was out on more than double the dose of stims and now have 4 embryos ready for implementation of one on Monday. Get as much as you can through the nhs, you’ve waited this long good luck. Xx
