Ivf or IUi

Really in need of advice.

I have low amh/low ovarian reserve. Previous ivf fails, 1iui fail.

Tried different clinics. The clinic I’m with now advised I should just try natural iui asI’m a low responder to IVF.

I’m so confused. I don’t feel like I’m getting the best advice from the clinic. What should we go for, IUI or IVF?

Anyone been in a similar situation? What are your success stories and what can I do to help my situation?

thank you!

I don’t have any experience of this, but IVF is more advanced than IUI and people tend to graduate from IUI to IVF. Can you get free consultations with other clinics to get other opinions? X

Hey, I’ve been to 3 clinics already. This third one said because I’m a low responder I’ll probably respond the same again to Ivf. So that’s why they suggested natural iui. I’ll definitely talk to them again.

Are you using UK clinics? Have you thought of going abroad? They are much more advanced. UK doesn’t feature in the list of top IVF destinations or clinics 😕

My partner does not have any sperm. He had to freeze his sperm because he had to have an operation.

No worries! Abroad is definitely a Better option. Just wish we could do it. What are your experiences?

I had one NHS round but my clinic was a satellite clinic at my local hospital so only went to the clinic for egg retrieval and transfer. Local hosp clinic were great. Experience with clinic was limited but ok. Didn’t feel I got much info from them or a personal touch.

My clinic abroad are excellent. I have my own doctor, and a personal assistant who i communicate with which I love cause of the more personal touch and ease of dealing with the same person all the time.

If you were to consider abroad, maybe the sperm could be shipped over? It’s shipped frozen from sperm banks.

I believe the costs of treatment are a lot less abroad too although I didn’t look as I was 💯 sure I wanted to go abroad.

Egg donation friends is a fab website with tons of info on and not just for donor and/or abroad. X

have you asked about a different protocol with ivf to try get a better response? Also have you been taking supplements for 3 months + prior to any ivf cycles?

I have never tried iui, low responder also so went straight to ivf and had success.

The new clinic I’m at said because I’m a low responder, I’ll respond poorly again, try natural iui instead.

I’ve been taking supplements for ages! They’re not cheap :( I will talk to them about trying a different protocol.

What protocol were you on? I know individual cases are different. What did you do that made it successful?

I’ve always been told and have read so many stories of women who are low responders, that ivf would give a much better chance than iui,

No supplements are definitely not cheap…😕 great you've been taking them though. What ones are you taking? Make sure your partner is aswell. He is 50% of the making no matter what your diagnosis is.

I did short protocol on my two successful cycles and took a lot of supplements, acupuncture religiously, womb massage, prayers and kept stress low (as Best could ) i only had two blasts the first cycles from 6 eggs, 1 stuck and I have my precious son, second cycle, 1 blast out of 5 eggs , which spilt , identical twins. I unfortunately lost them both at 20 weeks 5 days but that was a different scenario, they were absolutely perfect. 💔💔

I dont understand that advice but don’t know your specific case. IVF generally has better odds no matter what your AMH is so I would defo ask more questions to your clinic around this xx

Thanks for this. I’ll talk to the clinic. They said it because I’m a low responder to ivf.

I have diminished ovarian reserve too. IVF was suggested. But, discuss things with your clinic. Hope everything goes well. xx
