Well, that was an unmitigated disaster. Met with consultant on Friday 21st. Because of my age and weight now he wants me to do 'Well Woman' assessment at local GP surgery including smear and mammogram as well as a barrage of blood tests including blood chloresterol and blood glucose. The Blasted and interfering NHS will enjoy jumping on that band wagon....'Oooh, you must lose weight, oooh, you may be pre diabetic. It is funny how these checks weren't done before doing 3 lots of egg collections!!! Will wait for letter saying what bloods he wants doing and then go through private blood testing company, that way avoid the local surgery getting a sniff in!!
Just get a feeling we are being fobbed off for some reason. As if this journey isn't hard enough!!!

Rules / requirements can be strange sometimes. I am underweight. In Romania, the national program requirement is of a bmi between 20 - 25, while the program for Bucharest requires a bmi between 20 - 30. My bmi was around 18, which is not far from the global lower limit of 18.5 for normal bmi. I could have reached this, but not the 20 they imposed.
Hey Yammie, for my private treatment I had to have my smear test results etc to proceed as well as getting thyroid, prolcatin etc. If I had been slightly older I would have had to have had a mammogram too, just seems to be the rules for us ladies in our 40's. Im guessing they didnt do all the checks before egg collection as your results need to be within a certain time frame and you may have needed to have them done all again by the time your started treatment. Hope you get them all sorted soon and can get going with treatment!x
