Miscarriage - Next ivf

I was 6.5 weeks pregnant with FET. Had little bleeding last week. I was really panicked and went to the clinic. They were able to see the sac with York. So they said it’s all good. My bleeding stopped after couple of hours but had little discharge for few days. Doctor said it’s normal during first trimester.

But I had the ultrasound today and unfortunately the sac was abnormal and it was covered with blood clogs. End up with missed miscarriage. It was really heart broken.

I was asked to take 4 virginal miSOPROStol (CYTOTEC). Now started with some bleeding. I heard it’s going to be very painful. Anyone has experience with those medications?

Also we don’t have anymore embryos. So we need start the next cycle all over again 😒

How soon can we start with the stimulation after the miscarriage?

Thanks!!

I'm so sorry you are going through this 💔 I had a missed miscarriage a few weeks ago at 11 weeks 2 days. I also was given that medication 4 pills vaginally. But I was in hospital when I had it as I started bleeding and cramping and as I was quite far along I was told it was going to be painful so I could have morphine in hospital. It took about 3 or 4 hours to really start working. It was painful I'm sorry to say hun...but hopefully since you were not as far along it wont be as bad. I had severe pain for about 2 or 3 hours that even the morphine didnt fix. But I had passed everything within 24 hours including the baby which came last. I did pass massive clots and lots of bleeding but hopefully wont be as bad for you not as far along. If you are in alot of pain hun go to hospital...I stayed in for 2 nights just so i could have the best pain relief. I'm so very sorry you are going through this i know what your going through. Sending you massive love and hugs💕⚘ Message me if you have anymore questions, take care sweetie 💗💔

Very sad to hear that you had a miscarriage at 11wks. Did they say what caused the miscarriage?

I am bleeding now with large clots. I had a really bad cramping last night. But pain killers helped. I have a scan next week to make sure everything is cleared out.

Hope everything will back to normal soon and we want to start the next cycle.

Are you planning to do another cycle?

Thanks for sharing your experience and good luck to you!!

Sadly I dont think they ever really know the cause of a miscarriage. Most likely a problem with the embryo. But everything was going so good, my betas were high and more than doubling...good scan and heartbeat at 7 weeks...just devastated. I haven't had my follow up as I just haven't been coping really well 😞 we have 1 embryo left and that's it. We have no more money for IVF. So more than likely that was my last chance 💔 best of luck for your next cycle, and sorry your going through this right now 😓 xxx

Hey Niki. Our stories sound similar. I am so sorry you are going through this too. Do you have any updates? I had a d&c a week and a half ago. Hoping to start our ivf process over again soon

Hey hun I'm so sorry this has happened to you too. It's so unfair isn't it 💔😥 im glad you got a d&c cause what I went through was horrendous. I would have preferred that. No, no updates havent even had a follow up at the clinic...we have 1 frostie left but I just cant even deal with IVF right now. I'm sure at some stage I will try our last frostie but can bear it right now. I'm glad to hear your ready to start again soon xx

Hi Niki, I am so sorry for you as well. I feel so heartbroken for other women going through this.

With our first miscarriage I chose to miscarry naturally and it was the worst pain I've ever been in.

We did a d&c this time as it was our second miscarriage... You risk scar tissue and stuff with the surgery so for you that's probably a good thing! since I wasn't bleeding/passing anything like I was the previous time I wanted to just move on as quickly as possible and hopefully get some answers.

Isn't the cost crazy? I am lucky that we have some mandated infertility coverage where I l live but we've still spent thousands on everything so far. My d&c alone was $1000! (I am sure without coverage you have spent much more then me 😢..not sure what it's like in UK). I hope your body heals soon and you feel ready to move on too. Our first miscarriage was three years ago so I'm just ready to be a mom. Thank you for getting back to me ♥️

Oh I'm so sorry you have been through this twice 😥 it's just so unfair. Yes I bet the D&C was much better but lucky I was in hospital when I miscarried so I had lots of morphine whenever i wanted. Was still painful and horrible...so much blood 😩 I am just really glad I knew when I passed the baby and I was able to take the remains home and bury them under a special rose Bush I bought 😥

Oh you have no idea about costs...I'm not in the UK I live in New Zealand..its between 13-15,000 for 1 round of IVF!! I know it's just ridiculous! Luckily my 2 rounds were funded...so we have our last embryo...our last chance and then that's it. I dont have the money for another round 😥

Thank you yes I'm well and fully healed my miscarriage was in May. I hope your doing ok and healing up and glad you have the opportunity to go again 😊💕😘

That's insane!! Who can afford that?! With insurance coverage we had to waste 3 months (and $1500) on IUIS which is frustrating but at least our ivf is somewhat affordable. And it's been In chunks ..$1000 here and there. It's crazy you are across the world from me... I'm in the United States! It's summer here for us. Anyways. Keep me posted. A friend of mine only got two eggs from her retrieval and now she has 2 babies. All you need is the one emby, so don't let yourself feel discouraged. Also for your next round look into castor oil packs and accupuncture. :)

And yes Hopeful1986 the price for IVF here is bloody insane! Oh wow cool I'm actually from Canada but moved to NZ 20 years ago 😊 wow your friend is crazy lucky, I've had 29 eggs retrieved in total with only 4 blasts to show for it 😩 well if my last embryo doesnt work at least i can say I damn well tried! 💕 xx

Hey im sorry you had a miscarriage its crazy how embryos look good and then they dont work.. its so sad.. im sorry. Is this you trying for your first? Also have u thought of having ivf in the uk? Its alot cheaper it is costing me 3600 with icsi x

Thank you. Yes my first...which is unlikely going to happen 😥 by the time I got return flights to the UK accomodation etc plus the stress of getting all the way there it will probably cost around the same amount. Plus the pound is worth alot more than the New Zealand dollar so there is exchange rates too. But thank you 😘xx

Hi, I am really sorry for what you are going through. I have just been through something similar as at my 4th IVF cycle I was finally pregnant but at 11 wks and started spotting and then bleeding. Went to A&E and after many hours of waiting, a vaginal test and then a scan, we discovered that there was no heartbeat and that the baby was only 8.5wks and I was already in the process of miscarrying. I did ask the hospital how soon I could try again if we decided to and the nurse told me that NHS says after you get a period (which could be normally from 2-6wks after miscarrying ) and they also said that IVF clinics say 4 months! I have a consultation appointment after this failed cycle at the end of the month with my clinic so I will be asking them

Oh I am really sad to hear that. This was my first ivf cycle. But can’t even imagine how hard it’s to loose your child in 4 ivf cycle. Hope you can start your next cycle soon and wish you good luck 👍

Im so sorry that you are going through this! We had a spontaneous loss at 6wks so I cant help with medical management. Im in a slightly different position to you as we are doing a FET but our clinic has made us wait for my 3rd bleed before we can start prepping for another transfer. I really hope this is over quickly for you both, massive hugs.xx

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss x

Hello, so sorry to read this. I do understand and remember what it is like, I had to use the misoprostal last year. The worst pain starts within 30 minutes but shouldn't last more than a couple of hours. You can start again after 3 cycles. The positive is that you know you can get pregnant. That is a huge step. Big hugs to you. P.s. I am now nursing my attempt after the misoprostal taking. Hang on in there xxx
