Early Miscarriage?!

I don’t really have any questions, just wanting to post my experience.

I would be 5 weeks tomorrow, from my second transfer.

Last night I woke up with a sudden feeling of my period coming on, very mild lower abdominal cramp. When I went to the loo I had heavy red blood and diarrhoea. I felt weak and had the hot and cold shakes. Mild cramps continued for 30 minutes, but continuous heavy bleeding with clots, when I went to the loo and very cold all over. The symptoms seem less now 5 hours later but have also been battling nausea.

Again no real question as there is very little doubt what this means, but just wanted to share as feeling pretty lonely right now.

I still have one 5BC embryo left and trying to concentrate on the positive that I did get pregnant, so sure I will feel better soon. Really hope anyone reading this has better luck or finds the information useful xx

Update:

I had a scan and a blood test today, just before I got there I experienced another big bleed with clots which felt like confirmation it was all over. In the scan I was diagnosed with a hematoma, they could see a yolk sac but said it was too early to know if anything was in it (5 weeks 4 days) so was booked in for another scan in a week but was told that it would likely end in miscarriage.

However they also did bloods and I just had a call saying my HCG was 14000 which is in line with a normal pregnancy and was promising.

I don’t know what to think, I have grieved and don’t want to get my hopes up again. Just having to be patient and hope for the best.

Oh Tanya I am so sorry, hopefully your clinic will be able to support you. Stay in touch with family and friends and try to keep yourself busy if possible, thinking of you💖

So sorry to hear what you're going through. I can see you are a very positive person and are now looking forward to future treatments. Good thing you have your embryo to look forward to. I too have three embryos frozen in my clinic (I had my treatment done overseas) but I'm still on the fence on deciding what to do with them.

Thank you for asking! Honestly it has been a bit of rollercoaster.

I had a scan a week later and saw a heartbeat! I was so shocked as the first dr had told me I would most likely miscarry, because of the hematoma. I was so happy I burst into tears! The hematoma has completely gone and they think my second, very heavy bleed, may have been it bleeding out. They have upped my pessaries to 3 times a day.

I had a reassurance scan last Thursday and I was measuring 7 weeks and 4 days which is exactly where it should be which was great, however the heart beat was 98, not sure if that is low or ok, as google gives mixed results but there is always something to worry about! I am spotting almost everyday and some days my symptoms are really bad but then somedays, like today, seem less which also worries me, but I am trying to take the view that it is out of my control and what happens happens.....easier said then done!

I am having another reassurance scan at 9 weeks at 5 days.

I really am hoping it all works out but still scared to get too excited.

That is great news Tanya! Have they explained why you are still spotting? Congratulations and I hope this one sticks the whole 9 months!

hi there, thank you for asking, so far so good! 13 weeks this week so fingers crossed!

Spotting is pretty normal apparently and often old blood or to do with the changes going on but still very stressful so have just taken it day by day and hoping for the best, very glad I was open from the beginning with work and close friends and family as they have really helped me stay sane and kept me distracted from the rollercoaster! Oh I'm perfectly fine. I'm not pregnant though. We're just enjoying our baby. We had her through egg donation from a clinic overseas. Am glad that you are doing okay as well. I hope you have a healthy take home baby soon!

Just a little bit of hope for you. So we had a different experience, no symptoms other than a fading test, we too, focused on the fact that at least we knew we could get pregnant, also that it was never meant to be a baby or that wouldn’t of happened. We then had two frozen transfers, both of these were successful and resulted in our little boys (3 in May and 6 months old). Keep on going xxx

I thought it happened once but we wouldn’t be lucky enough for it to happen again, but here I am, with two extra bfps under my belt. The most amazing things can happen ❤️

Hi Tanya6584,

I am not sure with your post...but have you been to the doctors? When I was pregnant, around the same time as you, I started bleeding lots!!! when I went to the hospital they were able to confirm that the baby was OK but I had an internal bruise.

I am just saying this, in case you haven't been, as it might not be a miscarriage.

No matter what happen, don't lose hope.... I am sure your baby will come soon😘

thank you for your message. I am going for a blood test tomorrow but the nurse said only light bleeding was normal and this was definitely not light so I am preparing for the worse but thank you for the glimmer of hope, you never know! X

it is very stressful so try to stay calm....in my case I was bleeding for 2 months, due to the internal bruise, sometimes with heavy painful episodes. I also know other girls that they experience this, so it is not so uncommon (and they didn't go through fertility).
