**Sensitive** scan 6w4d. Baby is fine, but another haematoma was found

Hi everyone.

Here is the first picture from my perfect tiny baby

Heartbeat was there and it was healthy and measurements were ok (just 1 day behind)

But (and there always seems to be a but in my journey) a subchorionic haematoma was noted near the sac.

It has a very similar size to the last one I’ve had with my previous pregnancy, and that ultimately made me loose the baby at almost 9 weeks 😢

I am happy that I have a chance, but terrified that the same will happen all over again.

Why is this happening again? Is the clexane causing this? Will I loose the baby again? 🙁

Glad to hear baby is okay but how worrying for you to haematoma is there.

I can’t advise but I have read women can have haematoma & babies are okay. I know with what happened you are bound to worry.

I would get in touch with the clinic or GP to get their opinion on what to do.

When I had spotting in this pregnancy a GP signed me off work in case of a haematoma & told me to bed rest.

Keeping everything crossed for you xoxo

Thank you lovely Jess.

I’ll be resting as much as I can.

This size of the haematoma worries me as it is again beget than the sac, and that’s not supposed to be a good sign 😢

I can just wait and see, and of course hope for the best ...

Look at that tiny little baby boo in there, that’s awesome!

I can’t comment on the clexane sorry. Might be worth asking your clinic?

Try to stay positive (if you can) and maybe some R&R will help?

Best of luck, hope it all goes well xxx

Thank you lovely! I’m sure it’s very basic, but I’m not getting there... what do you mean by R&R?

Yay to baby being on 🙂

Did they suggest anything and will they monitor you?

This was a private scan as my clinic is abroad. I am contacting my clinic by email, but last time unfortunately they didn’t provide much advice.

The consultant at the EPU that saw me last time (the one that told me that my babie’s heartbeat had stopped) said that if I had come earlier to him he would have stopped me taking the clexane as soon as the haematoma was found.

I think I’ll do that this time around...

It’s so difficult to know what’s best and every clinic/consultant have differing opinions. Might be worth contacting the EPU again to speak with them x

I have just found out that I have two of these as my pregnancy has resulted in Twins.. Had a huge bleed yesterday (and still some) but babies are ok today still... I was so shocked as the amount of blood was like my miscarriage last year, It’s all very scary.

I am on clexane due to a clotting issue and although my nurse didn’t say that it was due to the clexane, the bleeding is probably slightly more exaggerated due to it.. She measured mine at 6mm and 10mm, it’s just an awful waiting game..

Will you be scanned again by the clinic? I phoned the EPU who are going to make an appt with me on Monday when they are actually open..

I have everything crossed for you Cat and prey it’s not a repeat of last year 🤞🏻 xxx

Jenjen, so sorry you are going through this as well... 🙁

Glad that your babies are ok after the bleeding!

My haematoma is a little bigger: 25mm x 17mm x11mm

I just feel that the same story is repeating all over again.

I’ll be keeping everything crossed for you too 😘😘

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I also had a haemotoma and bled from 8-12 weeks. My little girl is 5 months and currently sleeping in my arms. I know you had a loss before because of this and that must make it even more scary, but it doesn't always end badly. Did they say where the bleed was in relation to the sac? I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you but just know it does work out OK sometime xxx

So glad to know that your little one made it and it’s now a healthy baby xxx

So sorry this is happening to you lovely. Seems so unfair. I had a haematoma at 17weeks, it’s so scary and nerve racking. Best advise I had was modified bed rest, no lifting, lots of water to ensure uterus doesn’t cramp unnecessarily and plenty of fibre so you don’t strain.

There’s no way you can stop worrying but try to be as calm as you can. I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻 did they prescribe any progesterone?

Thinking of you lovely, take care xxx

Thanks for all the advice and well wishes Em!

I am already on high doses of progesterone so I think that base is covered.

Has your haematoma reabsorbed now?

I hope so🤞

Yes went for my 20 week scan on Thursday and it seems to have reabsorbed so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

That’s good your on progesterone, I would try and rest as much as you can. Can you get a sick note if your working? Try to put your feet up as much as you can lovely and I really hope it resolves. When’s your next scan? X

Thank you very much Star, very kind of you ❤️

Hi CatDV,

I am really sorry you are going through this 😔

We could also see a haematoma after two bad bleedings... I would say It was very big... I had bled twice one week ago, I was already on high progesterone (4x200 mg vaginal) but they advised me to start taking a daily injection as well. I started It on Saturday, second bleeding (the worst) happened that night, but since then I haven't bled again, so I think the extra progesterone is making a difference.

Now I am just keeping everything crossed for the bleeding to not come back: the doctor told me is like a competition between the bleeding and the sac: if the second grows faster (she said at 12 weeks we would be safe), It will sin, but bleeding again might put It at risk.

Have you had any bleeding or you just saw It at the scan?

All the best xxx

You’ve been having quite a scary journey 😥

Glad the bleeding has stopped for you!

I haven’t had any bleeding yet but was told that it can happen at any moment.

With my last one I had 3 episodes of mild bleeding and it was always when I overdid on walking.

I’ll try to take it even easier this time.

Keeping everything crossed for both of us 😘🤞
