I had some bleeding at 7 weeks pregnant and was convinced I was having a miscarriage as it was quite heavy. I got scanned and found out it was a hemorrhagic gestational sac that had ruptured and baby looked fine (which was reassuring). Apparently it's fairly common in IVF pregnancies and I stopped bleeding after a day. Has anyone else experienced this? (I also wanted to write about my experience because I wish someone had told me about hemorrhagic sacs - it might've saved me the heartache of thinking I'd lost another pregnancy!).

I started bleeding around 11 weeks. It was really scary, I ended up in the ER in the middle of the night because they thought it was a misscariage but the baby was fine. At my NT scan they found a big hematoma (10*3cm). A few weeks after I started bleeding again and had some clots. The biggest was the size of my palm. I checked for a heartbeat with the doppler and everything was fine. The next day they found out the hematoma got a bit smaller (7*2cm). I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant.
this happened to me at 7 weeks, passing clots and having cramping, scanned 3 days later and baby was fine they said likely a haematoma caused by the transfer process which is more traumatic to our uterus than we imagine. Baby is now a healthy 2 year old 😊
I had this and I bled a few times before it finally cleared so please don’t worry if the bleeding does start again as every time it happened to me I was absolutely terrified. It went on from 5-10 weeks for me and then it was gone on scans as after that it was a healthy pregnancy and baby 🥰 wishing the same for you xx
I bled from weeks 5- 8 consistently and everything was fine. 29 weeks now 😊 It’s terrifying at the time and very hard to take reassurance from the fact it’s surprisingly common! x
I bled at 5 and 4 days and I couldn't get a scan until I was six weeks. Very common in ivf and the lady who did my scan was able to tell me I had another bit of blood thatight come out so when it happened again I was better placed to deal with it. From reading the forums it does happen quite a lot and although they do tell you at the clinic it never prepares you for when it happens to you!! Good luck with your pregnancy!! ❤️❤️
