Hysteroscopy / hydrosonography

I'm desperately seeking advice / guidance. I've started my medication to prepare for egg donor treatment in Spain at the end of May. I had a scan on Sunday and it revealed a suspected polyp on my womb lining. The clinic has just told me that I need to have a hydrosonography to confirm that it is a polyp and, if it is, have it removed.

I've never heard of this procedure and have no idea where to have it done. Does anyone know? I keep coming across 'hysteroscopy' and the price of that is out of my reach. Does anyone know if it's possible to have a hysteroscopy on the NHS? I know that would take a while due to waiting lists but I can't afford the fees so would be prepared to postpone the treatment until I've had the hysteroscopy.

Thanks.

I had 2 hysteroscopys on the NHS, the 2nd one was to remove a polyp. I think you’re right about postponing treatment until it’s gone as a polyp can affect implantation. Sorry I don’t have any idea about the other procedure, I hope you get some answers and are able to get back to treatment ASAP x

Hi thanks for your advice. I'm really gutted as everything was going so well. Will have to speak to the GP this week to start the ball rolling in getting a referral.

a hydrosonography is a trasvagnal songeraph they use a smallish pope covered in a condom like covering and insert it in to your vagina not usually pain full just unconformable but a hydrosonography is were they fill your womb with saline/salt water to distend your womb and there tend to be slightly pain full now a hysterscopy in outpatient can be very very painful for 1 in 4 women especially if you have not given birth wife has had one resantly under GA on the NHS but it adds a extra 5 weeks wait so if you must have a outpatient get them to give you mefenamic acid (Ponstan) at lest and have gas and air to tramadol or mezladom is better but yoi would have to fight for them hand and get them to do it vigascopic methered as that is the least pain full please witch hospital would it be at as some are goo and some are not so good?
