Free Fluid in pouch of Douglas

Hi

I went for a scan today day 22 of my cycle which is due March 4 give and take and the scan report said free fluid in pouch of Douglas which I have no clue what it mean, just wanting to know if this would affect a fresh donor egg transfer although it’s not going to be for a few months yet? I am about to start down reg in the pill.

I had a pool of free fluid in my pouch of Douglas which they said was likely to be down to a burst ovarian cyst. They didn’t see it as a problem when we were having a fertility treatment but did check for other cysts. Mine was discovered from a transvaginal and normal ultrasound. I imagine it wouldn’t stop you starting treatment unless the cyst was huge and posed a threat. The fact the fluid is there suggests the cyst has already burst. So you should be ok xx

Hey hun

Was the cycle successful? We are using donor eggs and it will be our last shot round number 8.

Sometimes it’s caused when a follicle is released after ovulation and fluid leaks out. I asked about it when I had a scan x
