Free fluid update 😒

Just wanted to thank you all for the support after my last post.

I went to the clinic this morning and the fluid is still there, my consultant did a 3D scan and is pretty sure he can see a polyp so this cycle has also been abandoned. He wants me to have some ‘exploratory’ surgery before I go ahead with any further treatment as he’s also concerned my tubes may be leaking 🤷‍♀️

The wait for surgery is currently until August but I’m really hoping he’ll get a cancellation or be able to squeeze me in somewhere 🤞 Im also a bit miffed that the polyp wasn’t picked up by the gynae consultant who did my hysteroscopy in March.

So for me it’s back to the waiting game, feel like another year is going to be wasted 😣

Hi E_05. So sorry to hear of this disappointment, but it obviously t needs to be sorted out. Polyps can materialise quite quickly, so it might not have been there back in March. If your tubes do present with hydrosalpinx, then they may need to be clipped or removed. The excess fluid leaking from them, if that is the cause, can prevent a developing embryo from implanting in the womb, so the fluid issue needs to be dealt with. Not what you want to hear of course, but your specialist seems to be on top of things, and he/she wants your treatment cycle to work too. Hope you don't have to wait too long. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you Diane, I didn’t realise polyps can form so quickly. You’re right and I am grateful that my consultant is on top of everything it’s just the waiting that’s frustrating.

Hi. When I trained, my consultant said that gynaecology/obstetrics have the longest names and the longest waiting times. I think he was right!!! Diane

Arrghhh Im not surprised that you're a pee'd off. I would be annoyed if a polyp had been missed too although I guess it could have just appeared since. Fingers crossed for a cancellation appt....did you tell them you'd be willing to accept one?! Just seems to be one thing after another for you.....Im annoyed for you!xx

Thank you, I know I couldn’t believe it and even more concerned now if my tubes are leaking 😣 yeah I’ve told them I’d like it ASAP and my consultants going to speak with the other fertility consultant at my clinic to see if they could fit me in sooner so I know he’s doing everything possible x

Arghhh

Sorry to hear this, it's really been tough for you, hoping you get over this soon. Wishing you the best.

I did some research on fluids in uterus as promised but I kept seeing infections (from instrument used on hysteroscopy), not sure if that's helpful.

Thank you so much for looking, it doesn’t seem possible that it could of been from the hysteroscopy then. I know have surgery is the best option just frustrating. Hope your okay x

Thank you, definitely I’m glad to be getting it sorted before wasting another chance it’s just the waiting that is frustrating. Hope your doing okay xx

in reply toE_05

It’s always the waiting. I think the waiting is the worst part of this horrible process ☹️ I’m good thank you. xoxo

I'm sorry it wasn't better news for you yesterday. Do you still need to go back tomorrow? Xx

Thank you, nope they’ve abandoned the cycle. Got to wait for a date for surgery now. I read you’re recent post and you definitely don’t sound selfish to me! It’s totally understandable how your feeling, I feel like she could of waited until you’d had your scan, hope your doing okay today xx

in reply toE_05

Oh that's so disheartening. I hope you can get an date sooner than August though. I know it doesn't help massively but it is better that they get this sorted for you so you have a good chance when you go again. It's a very trying time though and I'd be very upset and frustrated.

Thank you. I need to look at the thread properly again and reply to people! I think she could have waited too, I just can't help fearing the worst which is natural I suppose. Xx

It’s the waiting that is getting to me, I know having the surgery is the best thing in terms of moving forward for my next transfer I just don’t think il cope well with waiting 3 months.

Yeah that definitely is natural especially after all youve been through xx

in reply toE_05

Try to busy yourself with some lovely things to do and hopefully it won't seem too long await. Keep talking to people (us) if you feel it's getting too much. Fingers crossed for an appointment asap.

To be honest, I feel like I've had it easy in comparison to most people which is why I'm expecting the bubble to burst. I'm really grateful to be in my position though and have no reason to think that things are going to go wrong so I need to stop worrying. Xx
