1st day of period- timings??

Hi all,

After abit of advice, although I’ve had my FSH and LH tested a few times before, my problem is the timings! I’m due on now, and could come on today, but if I came on this afternoon would it be too soon tomorrow morning to have my blood test to get the right result, as would it be classed as day 2. I can’t get my blood taken at the weekend, so Monday may be too late unless I come on tomorrow? What times of day does your period class as day 1? For example if I came on (red bleeding) at 4pm today is that still day 1?

I can’t wait another month as my last test was abnormal and it’s delaying me seeing a specialist.

Help required!

Thank you

Hey hun is this to start stimming for IVF? my clinic counts day 1 as full flow bleeding before 12pm that day. So If it did come on this afternoon tomorrow would still be classed as day 1 as yeah has to be full flow too. Your clinic may be different I dont know so maybe give them a call and ask just in case 😊 best of luck xx

My Dr told me to count red bleeding before about 10pm as day 1. If later than that, count the next day as day 1

My clinics count the day you start any bleeding as day one. Hopefully it did come today! My last fsh blood test I had to do on day 4 because my period came on the Friday night (My period was also a week late) and my fsh reading was too high (if my consultant would have taken this reading I wouldn't have qualified for nhs funding) luckily she decided to repeat and my next fsh blood test was on day 2 and was all ok. I hope you get it all sorted xx

The last time I had it done was too soon after treatment so levels abnormally low. Still yet to come on so will do test Monday. The clinic said if my levels haven’t returned to normal they won’t do another cycle and we are now private, so fingers crossed it was just the meds that was affecting the results. Clinic told me if before 5pm red bleed it’s day 1 anything after the following day is day 1. I think all the clinics have differing opinions. Wishing you the best on your next cycle

Hi Di, my period is still yet to come, typical when you are waiting for it so I’m going to get the test done on Monday. So doesn’t matter if I come on tonight or tomorrow now. If I come on Sunday will have done Monday or Tuesday
