I'm in my FET process now.
I started on Estrodial 11 days ago, I have a scan tomorrow to check lining and if all is well embryos will be thawed (I have 3 frozen).
Clinics vary in terms of cycle length and drugs so I'm not sure what your clinic do.
Is your clinic NHS? Xx
What’s estrodial? It’s a private clinic but they do nhs there x
It's estrogen. Hormone to support endometrial lining.
If you can, try to call up for an appointment with the consultant and ask all of the questions you have.
Going back a couple of months I had a follow up after egg collection to discuss that and also discuss this frozen tranfer, when I came out of the appointment I had forgotten everything so called the clinic to arrange another appointment which they did. Poor you having to contend with a snobby nurse, it's your body and your treatment, of course you need to know what will happen. Xx
Just like with the fresh cycle there are 2 cycles you could be on with an FET, long or short. Unlike fresh, in an FET PCOS doesn’t affect which cycle you use because you aren’t stimming so there’s no danger of over production. The fact they’ve asked you to phone up on Day 1 suggests to me they’re planning to put you on long protocol (short starts on Day 1 so you wouldn’t have time to get meds in place etc). With long, you down reg from day 21 - some clinics do a single injection and others do a course of nasal spray to take. After a week or two you’ll have a bleed and will go for a scan. Once they’ve confirmed your lining is thin then they’ll start you on oestrogen (I think everywhere does tablets) to build up your lining. My clinic scans you after 12 days of tablets to see how your lining is and if thick enough will get you booked in for transfer (usually a week later). 5 days before transfer you start with the progesterone (assuming you have 5 day embies). Will most likely be pessaries for your first go as they’re easiest to administer. Good luck with everything and hope your clinic starts being a bit more helpful!
Hi it all depends if you are doing a medicated or natural fet. I've just done a medicated fet. I had to phone the clinic on day 1, on day 21 I started buserelin injections (I was on buserelin for about 35 days) after 2 weeks on buserelin they did a blood test to make sure I had shut down and then I had to take oestrogen patches and tablets and the pessaries started a few days before transfer. The tablets patches and pessaries continue until the pregnancy test and further if it's positive. Good luck xxx
