I first started TTC 4 years ago. I had previously been diagnosed with low progesterone levels years ago in relation to something else so skipped the 2 year period before tests were allowed and had only been TTC for about 8 months before my GP agreed to basic tests. They showed mild PCOS but my hubby’s tests showed he had very low sperm count, motility and morphology so we skipped the rest of the tests on me and didn’t bother with Clomid or anything like that and went straight to ICSI.

We had our first round of short protocol ICSI in Aug 15. We agreed to take part in the Habselect clinical study (a new way of selecting sperm by seeing if it is attracted to a certain substance) but do not know yet whether we were in the control group or test group. I had 15 follicles, 11 mature eggs of which 9 fertilised and 4 made to blasto (3 day 5 and 1 day 6). Had 1 transferred and 3 frozen. Got my BFP and now have a 19 month old cheeky chappie who has turned our lives upside down.

Fast forward to now and we are trying for no 2 using our frosties. Had my first long protocol FET last month. I responded well to drugs, had perfect lining, blasto defrosted well and transferred fine. 9dp5dt I got my second BFP but unfortunately it wasn’t to be and suffered a CP. It’s only been 2 weeks so still early days coming to terms with it and emotionally I’m having good and bad days. I know I can get pregnant and am so grateful to have my monkey already so I’m trying to focus on the positives. So now have 2 frosties waiting to be used - booked in for my nurse consultation at the end of Jan and will be starting next FET cycle from Feb AF, this time using short protocol (no idea why it’s been changed seeing as I responded so well to the last set of drugs, but it means a shorter wait so not complaining). Good luck to all you ladies out there whatever stage of your journey you’re on.

Hey, thank you for sharing your story and wanted to hear ours.

I’ve been ttc for nearly 6 years. Had laparoscopy nearly 3 years ago then tried 7 months of clomid with no success. I began my first fresh cycle of IVF April 16 - 9 eggs collected and 6 made it to blastocyst so 1 transferred and 5 frozen but unfortunately MMC August 16. I then went on to have 2 unsuccessful FET’s each time transferring 2 embryos and having the endoscratch. July 17 I had my 2nd fresh cycle this time only 6 eggs collected but 5 fertilised and 4 made it to top quality blastocysts again 1 put back and 3 frozen. This time I really thought it was ‘it’ we went and saw our baby’s heart beat which quickly ended in our hearts breaking as a week later another MMC. I’m currently having some time out before I have my hysteeoscopy and then going for another FET.

Wishing you lots of luck for your FET, I hope it makes your dreams come true. It’s okay to be nervous, you’ve been through a lot to get to this point. This forum is a brilliant place to get strength from xx

Hello E_05

wow sounds like you have been through a lot too. I can't imagine, very sorry for your loss. I have read that sometimes having a break from it all for a little bit really helps. Great to find a place where there are others like yourself, that know what We are going through...sometimes it feels like there is so much pressure, I find myself panicking at what I eat if I'm sleeping enough, walking enough. Then on the other hand alot of what Iv read or heard does say that when are body's are more relaxed it can help to get a BFP! Sending lots of baby dust to you for your next FET good luck xx

Thank you, yeah I feel like we need a break this time - 4 cycles and 2 MMC in a year has taken its toll. This journey can be very pressurised, I would say everything in moderation as long as your doing all the things like taking the supplements, eating/drinking the things that are believed to help at the right times then I believe the rest is down to luck as to whether the embryo sticks, it’s like a game of roulette xx
