1st FET- any advice

Hi all,

Due to covid we had our FET postponed but I’m on day 1 of my cycle & have just taken prostap this morning. Any advice on FET transfers? Should I be doing anything specific? I’ve only ever had fresh transfers so no egg collection etc seems all strange to me. Just waiting on clinic getting back to me to book pre stim scan appt.

Xx

Hi Laura,

Congrats on starting your cycle again 🙌🏼 I’ve just had mr 1st FET and I opted to have a natural one so I can’t give any advice on the medication side of things but other than that just try and keep yourself healthy, lots of water and sleep, positive thoughts and look forward to your transfer day!

Good luck 💕

Thank you, I shall pray for sleep as we have a todder from a previous ivf in 2017 who at this moment in time does not like to sleep all night 🤣 x

Hey Laura, FET is much easier than fresh in terms of on the body, although if you are having the prostrap injection to down reg be warned it can make you a little hormonal 🤪🙊so my advice would be to find things that relax you 🤗 I am due to have my prostrap injection in a few weeks too and begin another medicated FET after covid cancellation during my natural FET in March (clinic not doing natural now due to capacity). Good luck with your cycle 🤞🏽💜 xx

Oh my husband will be super glad if I turn in to a hormonal mess ha ha I’ve already been anxious about all this covid stuff. X

I too am due to have FET Monday but natural so can't speak to the medication side of things I'm afraid. One thing I was recommended by someone on here was the mindful IVF app which has really helped me. The only think you can contribute really is a positive outlook and trying to stay as relaxed and happy as possible so do anything at home that makes you happy. Lots of rest, films, magazines, anything that helps you stay calm. Good luck, I am really routing for you! x

Thank you, we have a toddler from a previous ivf in 2017 so a lot of rest is probably not going to happen ha ha I will tell her I need to relax and see what she thinks xx

Exciting times for you! My advice is to relax as much as possible and try and think really positively. Make time for you, have some nice relaxing baths and listen to some relaxing music. I had a FET in January and I’m now 26 weeks pregnant! Can’t believe it worked, we had a fresh cycle in 2016 which resulted in our 3.5 year old boy. So we’ve been so incredibly lucky for it to work both times!

Wishing you the best of luck and look forward to following your journey xxx

So Amazing, I really hope it works again as we only have this one embryo in the freezer 🤞 x

Hi Laura, no advice really but didn't want to read and run, and I think (and hope🤞🤞🤞) we will be cycle buddies. I had a call from my clinic yesterday to say I can have my FET (first ever embryo transfer ever) next cycle and to call them on Day 1. My period stared today (just under a week early! My body is obviously fed up of waiting) so I have to call them tomorrow. Eeeek! I know I will have patches, but that is about it really. I have already had them before when preparing for 2 different fresh transfers, neither of which happened (one cycle resulted in no embryos, and then the last cycle resulted in all embies being frozen as they found a polyp so had to had that removed first) I felt fine on the patches, no weird side effects or moodiness. I haven't ever reached the point of the pessaries or progesterone injections yet so I have no experience there. Good luck with your prepping and appointments x

Aww fab! Be good to have a cycle buddy! I’ve never had the pesseries but I had the progesterone injections before which just made me bloated (like practically all the ivf drugs)🤣 xx
