Vitex agnus castus - any advice?

Hi lovely ladies,

My acupuncturist advised I try agnus castus to help balance my hormones and lengthen my luteal phase. She suggested holland and barrett as its such a tiny dose and didnt think i needed much. Its weird because it says on the packet ‘do not use if trying ti get pregnant’ but she said it was fine and ive heard of other women that used it while TTC. She advised i take 1 tablet a day from when i stop bleeding to confirmed ovulation (tracking BBT). Last month was my first month, and it appeared to lengthen my luteal phase by 1-2 days.

Today AF reared her ugly head and I am devastated 🙁 i am wondering if anyone else has any experience of taking the herb? And if they only took it between AF ending and ovulation or all throughout the cycle? xx

Hi, I was taking Vitex tincture sourced via my nutritionist. I took it throughout the entire cycle without stopping. I didn’t think it lengthened my luteal phase but I used to start spotting on day 25-25 and this seem to have sorted it out. I haven’t been taking it for nearly a year now and my cycle seems to be ok.

Ahh thats interesting! I have never had spotting before but this month had spotting 2 days before period arrived in full force. Im going to take 325mg every day this cycle and see what happens. Thank you for your advice!
