Newbie -ttc possible hypergonadism on my hubby-help and advice needed

My husband and I have been ttc for a year. He had a vasectomy reversal dec 2016. There was sperm 40mil but only 4% motility after 3 months.

We thought we would just see what happened.

After a year went to GP who ran hormonal tests on me-im notmal except for a treated interactive thyroid.

Husband sperm analysis came back worse than the first (NHS vs private timescales means we are having the next S.A. privatley as records show tool over an hour to test!).

So second S.A -GO told my husband over the phone all his sperm were dead. My husband and I were heartbroken. When we could rally we went to see GP who seems to biebe he could do ICSI. Only now I've realised-then the sperm can't be dead-just immobile!

I asked for my husband to have hormonal blood tests as he has 2 children from previous relationships but they each took 2-4yeats to conceive. GO said she would do it to appease me 🤔

His results all came back normal except testosterone which was elevated. Notmal parameters were 7-24.8. His were 34.8.

My research tells me too little or too much testosterone affects sperm quality and that of reduced could improve the quality.

There isn't a huge amount of info on the web. My hubby is waiting for a call back from GP but I want to make sure we are fully informed.and she gives us the advice we need.

Anyone with this experience??

Thanks in advance

Sorry Baffled no experience on this!!! But it does sound like his body is producing too much testosterone!!! Ask GP for your partner to be seen by an endocrinologist!! I hope someone on here can give you advice. All the best xx

Hi the testosterone level needs to be interpreted in conjunction with sex hormone binding globulin as that is what determines whether it is active or not. Was that tested? It may be worth checking if the time of blood test also affects the levels.
