I’ve been a bit quiet on here recently after our 2nd miscarriage recently. We have one embryo left and I just want to throw the kitchen sink at it and give it our best shot. I wondered if you could help me.
our situation is (in a nutshell)
I’m 35, low AMH of 1.3 but still have gotten good numbers of eggs (10 first round and 7 second)
4 embryos on the first go, and 2 this round. All good grades.
Husband has a small varicocele (they won’t operate on it) but the doctors have recommended a sperm oxidation test if we did furthe rounds (which I don’t think we will).
2 pregnancies both lost before 7 weeks (blighted ovum on 2nd and 1st embryo didn’t develop past 5.5 weeks).
All other tests ok so far.
The doctor has agreed to let me have a low dose of steroid (which I’m really nervous about). Also clexane. He doesn’t think they’ll make any difference but hey.
Is there any reason you know of why our embryos keep failing at such an early stage of pregnancy?
Is there anything else I can do for this last transfer? I’m a bit desperate really and heartbroken
Thanks xx

Hi hun, just wanted to say I'm sending you love and luck for your next transfer! I'm also in the position if having an early loss and then chemicals and no clear reason why. I'm focusing on immune reasons myself. Have you done an anti-body panel? I definitely think steroids and blood thinners sound like a good idea xx
Thank you 🙏🏼 so sorry to hear about your losses too, it’s so hard isn’t it! My clinic don’t do those tests but I pushed my consultants for the steroids just to see if they help xx
Hi, I also had 2 pregnancies, both early losses, one was a blighted ovum and 2nd before week 5. On my 3rd FET the doctor put me on steriods and also aspirin. These are the only changes they made to my cycle. I am currently lying next to my miracle boys who are now 9 months old. Hoping this is a successful round for you, sending you hugs x
Thank you, hopefully you too will get your miracle baby this cycle. No side effects thankfully. I was on Prednisolone 20mg daily until confirmed heartbeat at my 7 week scan. The doc then lowered the dosage by 5mg weekly until nothing. I also took daily dispersible aspirin througout my pregnancy. X
That’s good to know thank you! I think I’m worried about getting ill or the whole moon face thing lol. Will also be on a low dose so hopefully no side effects for me either x
Forgot to mention apparently baby aspirin is really good for preventing miscarriages, I started taking it just before my FET, the same doc precribed both the aspirin and steroids. I also started drinking raspberry leaf tea and stopped around 6 days before the transfer, some women say it helps with implantation and also thickens the lining, if you do take it stop a few days before the transfer. Good luck x
