I’m 12dp3dt - and got a negative urine test today. My clinic doesn’t seem to offer a blood test to double check. Is that normal? I know I’m clutching at straws but I’ve heard of people getting neg urine tests and going on to have positive bloods. I’m worried about stopping my pregosterone. It’s our 1st IVF. I’m 43 and my dp is 51 and we had 2 x 6/7 cell Embies put back in - none to freeze. I know the odds aren’t good. But also know that up until the 1950s, the average age for having for last child was 42...as access to contraception wasn’t as good. My gran had my aunt when she was 42. Feeling sad

Urine test only if bfn - no blood test?
Hi TinklyWinky
So sorry to read your post. Did the clinic offer any advice at all? If you have drugs left and nothing from them then the only thing you can do is keep taking the drugs and test again in a day or two.
I really do wish you all the best xxx
My clinic don't offer blood tests either. What have they said to you? The normal advice is to carry on with progesterone and test again in a couple of days. Wishing you all the best xx
My clinic doesn’t offer blood test either. If you’re in the UK you can order blood tests online. I used Medichecks. Good luck. Hope you get your positive.
My clinic doesn’t do blood tests. Sadly my bfns were definitely bfns, no bloods needed xx
I agree with waiting a couple more days and re-testing. Failing that, you could chat to your GP - tell them your concerns, & ask them to do a hcg check to confirm?
Thanks for your replies. I’m starting to see some pink come through...so I’ve stopped the progesterone. I going to just need to find a way to restock with hope and getting going with round 2. Best of luck to everyone xx
