As far I'm aware it's fine to use a hot water bottle, providing it isn't too hot. Wrap it in something and just add some cold water in. I think in TCM they believe keeping your uterus area warm is helpful, also feet

Hi

I was thinking the same a couple of night ago (took my trigger Sunday night then had EC yesterday). From what I read, I think it’s absolutely fine up until transfer (and some people think it can help with follicle growth before Collection). But they don’t recommend it after transfer while in the TWW.

Good luck xx

All ok at the moment thanks, I was quite uncomfortable yesterday so had a rest on the sofa for the day but I feel good today, I haven’t needed any paracetamol so that’s a good start.

I have low AMH so they only got 6 eggs at Collection but there were only six follicles at my last scan so it was the best I could hope for, so am actually really pleased. They are calling me tomorrow with an update so I’m trying to keep busy today. Every time I think about that call my stomach flips, I’m so nervous!

Is your Collection tomorrow then? Fingers crossed for you x

Ahh I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow, it’s really ok I promise.

And you’re right, as many times as we’ve heard it, it is true that we only need one! Fingers crossed both of ours will become our little miracles x

Thanks Franco81! That's it we just gotta keep the faith ❤🤞

I used one during stims, I’ve had EC today and got 16 eggs, so it doesn’t seem to have been a problem. My clinic have actually never advised against them at any point, I think some of the talk about it might be folklore rather than science. X

Just hope a good proportion are mature and suitable for icsi now... I have had poor fertilisation before so just hoping that we get some embies- they have to get to day five for the testing we need, so keeping fingers and toes crossed!

Good luck for your EC x

I think it should be ok to use one up until your embryo transfer but not thereafter. Heat is used during acupuncture during stimulation phase to help promote blood flow / follicle growth so you never know it might help with that too. Hope the trigger shot went ok. My husband and I used to dread it xx

Hello,

My nurse said try not to use a hot bottle because it makes your body temp go up and down and you should try to keep body temp regulated. She did say if you need then its okay, but not boiling water and defo not after transfer. Good luck xxx

Ah fab thank u xx

Hi- I was advised by my clinic not to use a hot water bottle after egg collection. I had my egg collection on Monday. In the run up- I found a bit of gentle yoga helpful (cat pose etc but I was exercising regularly until stimulation started). Looking online there is some tall about raised body temperature ( eg from vigorous exercise or hot water bottles) and fertility but nothing concrete. Lots of people talk about trying to keep your bowels regular too :)
