4th day stimms, endo pain - can I use a hot water bottle??

Hi everyone,

I'm in my fourth day of stimms and as normal after my period i get the curse of the pelvic pains. I normally treat it with painkillers, hot water bottle and a lot of patience and teeth gritting.

As any endometriosis sufferer would know, hot water bottle is my bff. But I'm wondering if it's safe to use during IVF? I'm trying to keep it on the back of my pelvis and not use it on my front but I don't know if that even makes a difference. I really need it but also don't want to mess up my cycle. Please help!

I’m pretty sure my clinic said that I could use a hot water bottle during stimms and you can take paracetamol for the pain. Hope you’re feeling better soon!! Xx

Thanks so much! I'm pretty used to the pain and just get on with it normally but it's my first cycle and it's made me anxious about every little thing. Yep, sticking to paracetamol. Hope your transfer went well X

I used a hot water bottle for my Ebro pain during stims. I didn’t take drugs but paracetamol is fine for pregnancy so that should be ok. Hopefully only a few days left for you x

Thanks for the help. Yeah I've stopped taking anything other than paracetamol since my excision surgery as I learnt ibuprofen/any anti inflammatory drugs are not good for trying to conceive as it messes with ovulation. So glad I can keep my hot water bottle with me, I'm sure it's the only thing that's kept me going through the ten years of endo pain! Are you having your transfer today? X

Hot water bottle is fine during stims my clinic said. And painkillers wise they only allowed me paracetamol and codeine. Hope some of these work for you and feel better soon xo

Thank you so much, the paracetamol and hwb are keeping me sane so far so hopefully it doesn't get any worse! Hope you're feeling better after your EC X

It's after transfer they tell you to avoid heat as it can affect embryo development but during stims I think you can go for it. Hope it settles down. Good luck hon xxx
