So my daughter is 4+3 weeks pregnant and this morning she wiped and there was some brown blood on her tissue when she wiped. She then put a pad on to keep check. It’s still there a little but calmed down. Any advice ladies xx

I don’t know for sure but have heard/ read several times that brown (old) blood is normally normal and nothing to worry about. Hope she is ok xx

I hope so. This may sound wrong to some Ppl but she sent me a picture and it was definitely old blood and not fresh . We are just so scared of things going wrong xx

Keeping everything crossed, it’s only natural to be worried especially after everything involved with ivf. We got out bfp this morning so now the worry properly starts. Xx

Hey I had this at 5+5. I had some good advice from Oakey on here which was to make sure your not inserting the pessarie too high as this could cause irritation.

I had brown spotting that lasted for around half a day and I had been inserting the pessarie high. I made sure to only insert it a little after that and the spotting stopped.

Brown blood is old blood so tell your daughter to try and not worry (easier said than done I know!)

I’m now 16+2 so all was ok for me xxx

She has just done a pregnancy test 50 minutes after her last wee and it showed negative. I hope it just means there wasn’t enough build up if hcg xx

Yeah could easily be that as HCG is quite low this early on so isn’t always detected easily. If she can withhold from peeing for 4 hours this will help to concentrate her urine xxx

I had brown spotting when I wiped on my first bfp. None in my underwear. My clinic assured me it was ok, that unless it turned bright red and was accompanied by bad pains, it was nothing to worry about. It seems quite common. Can she contact her clinic today for reassurance? Perhaps send the lovely Diane a private message? xx

Just been to the Drs and he said nothing to worry about. Was a bit worried coz of the negative test but she had done about 5 wees before coz she just kept checking herself xx
