Sods law this has to happen when my clinic is closed and I don't know what to do!
I've woken in the night and went to the loo and when I wiped there was brown discharge, I put in a panty liner and went back to bed to wake up again in the morn for the loo and wiped, still there, there was a tiny bit on my liner but not enough to fill it or anything. There isnt red blood it's just brown. I've got a bit of cramping too. I've been told to take pessaries vaginally, shall I continue to do this? Just concerned they may not absorb properly, also does anyone know what this may be? I'm still remaining positive as I'm only 9dp 3dt and have 5 days till test day and when my period is due. Any positive stories?
Thanks! X
**EDIT** just been again and it's turned to red blood ☹️ I didn't know what to do so have carried on with the pessaries but this ain't looking good. Heart broken 😭

Hi, I dont have the answers but wanted to say stay calm and try not to panic. Brown is old blood rather than fresh, maybe implantation bleeding? Read lots of stories of people spotting and all fine so fingers crossed all ok. Cant see why you couldn't take pessaries as normal, but im not a medical professional! My clinic said I can take them vaginally or back passage so maybe try the back if your worried. Good luck, hope everything is ok xx
Spotting is a common concern that many pregnant women face. Bleeding that occurs early on in pregnancy is usually lighter in flow than a menstrual period. Also, the color often varies from red to brown.Although it is easy to be concerned, don’t panic. The majority of women who experiencing spotting during pregnancy go on to have a healthy pregnancy and baby.
So i would suggest you to not worry about it. This seems to be extremely normal but do consult your gynecologist to be clear and clean on this.
Hi veekay... i dont know what to say it's so hard..... I know bleeding doesn't always mean AF. Keep strong. Its such a nerve wracking time. I am thinking of you.... really hoping for positive news xxxx
Hiya, as with Ella, I'm no expert but I just wanted to say I'm hoping it is all ok for you. So not give up hope - it could be a multitude of things so try not to think of the worst case scenario - I know it's easier said than done.
Just try to keep calm and relax as much as possible.
It's typical that clinics are closed on such vital days like this though isn't it. You would think they would offer an emergency number or something at least!
Take care, and sending lots of positive luck to you xx
it did turn more red yes and I know it totally freaks you out but there could be a number of things to cause it. I've read LOADS of stories on here of ladies experiencing the same thing and have been totally fine. When I had it I sought reassurance from a friend who's had red bleeding and also her friend who's experienced heavy bleeding. Both pregnancies were fine. Easier said than done but try not to worry. I would still contact EPU tomorrow xx
Thank you that's really reassuring to hear, it feels like a period, o have period like cramps and the flow has got heavier, praying I could be wrong tho but it's just a waiting game now x x
Hey, sorry to read this but defo dont loose hope. My friends had two quite big bleeds early and further on and she's 23 weeks now. Try and relax today.. there is a mobile number on the answer phone, if you Get really worried maybe you could call that? Thinking of you xxx
Hello lovely, this happened on my second round and I got a BFP (mmc but that had nothing to do with the bleed)! I just wasn't absorbing the progesterone properly so they upped my dose. Is there not an emergency number you can phone? Xx
Hey Hun, yea I called them and they said to carry on as normal, it feels like a period, o have cramps and it's got heavier, think it's game over for me ☹️ Xx
Thank you for all your responses ladies, it does sound reassuring but I think this is it for me, I have period like cramps and the flow as got heavier and now red with some clots so I think it's my period. So hard to remain positive when that is all you have and you try to do everything by the book. Just feels like a kick in the teeth, why am I even bothering , really fed up ☹️
I am heartbroken reading this.... When you put everything into this process and it's just so cruel. I really am praying for you that your wrong and it's not AF. Thinking of you and praying your wrong. Sending huge hugs Xxxxx
So confused! So the bleeding had stopped now, I literally went from brown discharge to some light bleeding which had one clot when I wiped , which lasted about 2-4 hours, now nothing!
That sounds promising. If it is consistent and heavier i'd be more concerned. I was told you can have cuts and scabs from the procedure which can cause this. Hope it works out xx
Thanks Hun, I'm worried too, it stopped after a few hours and later that night i used a pessarie again and after that I spotted agin. Not sure what's going on ☹️ Will call clinic tomoz x
It must be so hard not to worry but you do read so many stories of ladies bleeding and getting a bfp after all. I hope you are one of these positive stories 🤞
Hope everything is ok, sending positive thoughts 💙
Thanks for all your support ladies, unfortunately the bleeding came back at full force in the middle of the night and has continued since then , it seems like a period and I have no other symptoms at all and it's heavier, I think you just know don't you so I'm definitely out. I will start looking forward now and hopefully have more luck with the next one. I think you are all so brave and this network is full of others supporting one another, without this I truly think I would feel alone. Thanks to you all xxx
Hi, I've had this too. The first round of progesterone almost mirrored what you've described. On the second we had a chemical which was terrible, feeling elated one day and distraught the next. I've now got a three month wait to get a second opinion and my progesterone dose upped. I'm just hoping the current pills will help to adjust the underlying problem so that my body makes more progesterone naturally, hopefully the same will happen to you. I'm not sure how many cycles you've had with the suppositories, but I have started to notice slight little (and often annoying - read acne) changes that suggests my body is altering my hormones naturally after 2 cycles.
It's incredibly frustrating and I feel your pain, but hopefully next cycle will be better xx
