First clinic appointment!!

Hi, this is my first post here. We've been ttc for nearly 3 and a half years now and have our first fertility clinic appointment on Monday.

I've had many blood tests and scans before and also a hsg test all of these have come back ok. My husband has low motility rate. Was wondering how long it takes from first appointment to starting treatment?

Also this is a great support network, this is the hardest thing we've been through and know it's only going to get harder. Thanks for your help x x x

Good luck with everything! We were in a similar boat as my husband also has low motility & low sperm count.

How long it takes really does vary from clinic to clinic.

Our wait was always because the consultant was so busy & the only clinic available to us was hour half drive(!). It felt like an age to get the consent forms all signed. From that initial appointment to then starting my meds, it was probably 3 months.

You're right in that it's quite a journey but you've got the right attitude and this forum will be a great help xx

Unfortunately it is a slow process but you are on your journey towards success. My only advise now would be to do some research yourself on low sperm motility and sperm rejuvenation and see what you can do to help yourselves while you wait. You may find you can still conceive without ivf so don't be labelled unnecessarily. Good luck to you both x

It all really depends on your clinic and their waiting times. We waited only a couple of months from first appointment to treatment starting, again though this depends on the clinic. My husband also has low motility and we were advised to have ICSI. Good luck with your appointment xx💕

Hey Feebee82! Sounds like you've made a great start getting your blood tests and so on done, that shoyld give your consultation a lot to get stuck into😊 same as Mrsjj has said, if your DH isnt already taking supplements, they can make a difference. My husband's initial sample results were pretty bleak but three months after everything is now pretty much in the normal ranges. If you check my page, I posted asking about supplements a while ago, you'll see loads of fab replies.
