Prednisolone quesion; if you are on it, when did you start, what dose, and for how long if you got a BFP? Also a question re aspirin/clexane

I've had 3 transfers using both, 1st time was steriods from day of transfer and clexane from scan at 6wks (never got that far, chemical) second time steriods week before transfer and clexane from positive prey test, (chemical) and 3rd time steriods wk before transfer and clexane from day of transfer - bfn. I went to tommys research centre in Coventry yesterday for a scratch as had previously had nk cell test done there so they offer the scratch for free. I mentioned the steriods to the professor who had originally told me to have the steriods, however has now told me not to take again after 3 failed cycles using it. As much as they had originally prescribed it because of high NK cell test, new research now shows that women's NK cells results can change monthly due to cycles etc and the stress the stem cells have during each cycle, the more stress there is to the stem cells the higher the chance of the NK cells coming into play, so they reckon women who have had recurrent miscarriages can then have a healthy baby due to the month of cenception the stem cell stress being the right level. Hope this all makes sense as this has all come from all the research they have been doing at Tommys in relation to this. Steriods last time made me feel quite neurotic. Never had it before but I strongly believe they heighten your current mood and with my SIL telling me she was pregnant on day 2 of my 2ww they definitely caused me to have a huge wobble. So my next cycle I'll be not using them. Each time I have I've got less along than my previous bfp (had 4 natural ones which all ended at various times) however I have a few friends where steriods have worked. I will remain on the clexane and will take from day of transfer as blood tests show borderline positive for sticky blood syndrome x

Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply and all the info. That's really helpful. Really wish you luck this coming time. So, do they test your NK cells each time then decide what to do? What dose prednisolone were you on before? (hope you don't mind the questions)

I take prednisolene and folic acid .i cant really remember what was said about them though.i just trusted my doctor and OH who was listening attentively.i was just too anxious and frustrated.sorry im not much help.

thanks so much for reply. Can totally relate with anxiety/frustration on this journey! Do you remember what dose prednisolone you were on? (Don't worry if you don't, we're all on so many meds, I am just glad I remember to take them!)

I'm on aspirin and clex. Clinic said to expect to be on both up to 32 weeks. I took pred with first ivf, they never said anything about evidence and I just did as I was told! This time I took dexamethasone (not sure of the spelling!) for first 12 weeks due to results from immunes testing and again just did as I was told!

Thanks so much for reply Littlecaz. How was this last try you mention, am not sure from your reply if successful or not or whether you're still in the middle of it. I do hope for your sake that things progressed and were successful, and if still ongoing things are going well. xxx

Successful ☺️. Although this is a natural pregnancy. I went back to the clinic where I had IVF as was literally about to use my one remaining frozen embie and asked them to monitor the pregnancy. They basically did everything they did for the IVF pregnancy (I had my immunes tested three times in 12 weeks which is why I ended up on Dex). Sounds like you're taking similar drugs? Hope all's going well xx

Yes to all.

Low dose asprin from start of oestrogen.

High dose folic acid a month before steriods

10mg steriods from day after transfer

Clexane injection from evening of transfer.

If a positive test then stated to take all until 10 weeks
