clexane and lubion - how long did you take?

Hello,

I’m currently taking Clexane and lubion up until 12 weeks and I just wondered how long you took these for and if you stopped Clexane at 12 weeks, did you then take aspirin from 12 weeks as a precaution ?

heya, yes stopped at 12 weeks and started taking aspirin - also at the advice of the midwives due to low Papp-a .

I’ve been advised to continue till 34 or 36 weeks (will check nearer the time - currently only 17 weeks).

Hello, I took clexane twice a day until I was 32/33 weeks. I was supposed to take it until 36 weeks but then had a bleed so they told me to stop early and everything was fine 🫶🏻

hi, I stopped lubion at 12 weeks but continued to take utrogestan until 16 weeks. I am down to 1 per day now & will stop tomorrow. I continue to take the clexane but had bloods done last week & my clinic is reviewing them. If I am able to stop clexane, I will then move to aspirin which is standard advice here in Ireland for pregnant women. Good luck and congratulations

Hi RACMumm.. Just wondering if you needed to check your serum progesterone levels before weaning off/discontinuing lubion. If yes, how frequently?Thanks!

Hi, I checked progesterone levels early on when I had my hcg beta but not since. By 12 weeks the placenta is usually doing all the work so it's safe to stop progesterone then and I don't think you need to check levels. I'm not sure why my clinic asked me to continue to 16 weeks. I haven't checked my levels since about 4 or 5 weeks. I reduced without checking and will stop tomorrow and won't check as should be more than safe by now 😊

Hi,I took clexane and Aspirin until 12 weeks due to hereditary thrombophilia. I carried on taking Aspirin due to high blood pressure and start a different form of clexane at 28 weeks until 6 weeks after birth to prevent blood clotting.

Lubion equivalent stopped at 12 weeks.

I'm 27 weeks on Wednesday.

Hello,I was told I would need Clexane until 12 weeks. I stopped taking Clexane for 1 week and went in for another blood test as a precaution. Turned out that I needed to take it the entire pregnancy and 4 weeks postpartum. My doctor didn't expect this at all and didn't really know why my test weren't what they were supposed to be.

Maybe have a blood test after stopping the meds.

I went to a specialist that my fertility doctor recommended. And went for bloods every 6-8 weeks during pregnancy. It was two pages of test results every time...I'll have to find my paperwork to check which one wasnt good 🤔
