I'm new here! feeling emotional after my first lap.

I've had heavy painful periods since I was 14 over the years I've been to my gp on many occasions and even the odd trip to a&e with suspected appendicitis. the last couple of years things have gotten worse I started to get severe leg pains and a burning sensation in my hip I saw 2 different doctors one saying it was my alignment the next saying it was a hamstring injury I was referred to physio for 6 months and they could not work out what it was in the end I gave up going and learnt to deal with the flare ups of pain in my leg. the last 2 years my stomach pains have got worse I've had repeated flare ups of pelvic infections, hpv and pain in my left lower abdomen that swells and goes rock hard, after many visits to a gp who kept dismissing my pain and telling me I'll get pregnant in time (I'm 35 and been ttc for 2 years),I found a really nice gp who took me seriously, she sent me for scans that discovered a suspected dermoid cyst on my right ovary, a possible uterus didlephys and a kidney stone. I have finally been refferd to a gyno and had my first diagnostic lap,HSC and dye last week. I'm a little confused as to what happens now and what it all means my discharge letter was a little vague. they discovered that I have a heart shaped uterus with a septum in the lower cavity, 4cm cyst with adhesions around oy right ovary and my right tube is blocked.I'm waiting for my biopsy results. I just feel really emotional and confused atm and not fully understanding what the next step is.

Hi Tash81. Just read your post, and was so sorry to read what a hell of a time you have been through. However, a least you have now been referred to the right specialist, who may want to proceed to treat your "findings" before I would imagine, recommending IVF. They can remove the septum if appropriate and deal with the adhesions and cyst if necessary at the same time, including the tube. I realise this probably means more surgery, but you would then be good to go, and it would maximise your chances of IVF being successful. Lots to think about, but I do hope all goes well with whatever is decided for you. Good luck! Diane
