Please don't worry too much about the scratch. I am a real wimp when it comes to pain and was in a bit of a state but it's not that bad. Yes it's a bit sore and uncomfortable but it's over very quickly. Good luck xxxxx
Hi Isitonlyadream. The procedure should not be painful, but you may experience a little discomfort. It is much the same as having embryo transfer, and is often followed by slight bleeding afterwards. You will most probably be prescribed a course of antibiotics to take afterwards, to ensure you don’t get any infection. It is quite safe to take some paracetamol, should you feel any discomfort afterwards. I’m sure you will be fine , and I do hope it all goes OK for you. Diane
Hi Holly, I had the scratch a few weeks ago. I took two painkillers beforehand (advice from others on here) and had it after work. The consultant said not to drive straight afterwards if I felt a bit woozy but I was fine & drove straight home. I did find it pretty painful at the time but it only lasts around a minute so dont let that put you off. I then had some period like cramps for a couple of hours. I didn't get bleeding afterwards either. Hopefully it'll all be worth it! Good luck!x
Thank you for getting back to me. That does not sound too bad, I am jut trying to not get myself worked up about it, with the failed cycle it hit me pretty hard so just trying to take it all in my stride for the FET cycle by arming myself with as much information as possible!
Good luck to you too - I too had trouble with down regulating and had to stay on the burserelin for an extra week before my lining thinned enough, apparently it is quite normal and nothing to worry about
I would go fir the scratch. I had it with my last Icsi cycle. You need to take some pain killers about an hour before. It is like having period cramps. It is over quickly. You will possibly get some spotting afterwards. I drove myself to the scratch and back again (approx 4 hrs driving) and I was ok. Hope this helps.
