Buserelin and bleeding

Hi ladies ive been doing the buserelin injections for the past nine days and am supposed to keep doing them until the 26th when i go for a scan. Today however im having some period symptoms and am bleeding. I was just wondering if this was normal and whether i should ring my clinic and notify them??

Hi Mellisa, I was told to expect some bleeding and that this is normal. I also started the Buserelin 12 Jan. As yet no bleed, but I'm not due for first scan until 4 Feb (with Newcastle C4L) x

Hi weemrsh its gonna be quiet interesting to see how we both get on with our treatments i hope it goes well for both of us my scan is on the 26th and i just got a call back from the hospital who told me that you are supposed to start your period about a week after starting so according to them its all going according to plan. Apparently it would be a problem had i not started.my period so lets see how it goes. I will keep posting the progress of my treatment so lets wait and see xxx

P.s let me know how your treatment is coming along as well xxx

There are a few of us at similar stage but think you're the first with pretty much same dates as me- will be nice to have an "IVF buddy"

I am on cd 17 so not really due on until the end of January. If it's not come on by a few days before my scan I will call the clinic. Please let me know how your scan goes next week and PM me whenever you like xx

It will defo be nice to have a ivf buddy especially since everyone here feels pretty alone in this journey. I mean dont get me wrong i have wonderfull support at home but they can never really understand how i feel. It feels much better for me to talk about things on here then to family . I will defo keep you posted hun and feel free to do the same xxx.

Hi I’ve been trying to conceive for 14 years and now just started my ivf.

I also started on the 12th January and have my first scan 2nd feb.

Bit concerned as I’m on day 10 of buserelin injections and still no bleed I start my gonal injection on sat 27th is this normal not to bleed or is it a prob pls help thanks and good luck

Hi. Yes you need a good bleed before your scan. They need the lining of your womb to be thin enough before you progress onto stimulation drugs. If it isn't thin enough they will keep you on buserelin for little longer until you hit what they call a base line to start the stim's. I'm at similar stages to you both, although I started much earlier i have struggled with getting lining to hit the base line. Good luck ladies x

Hi joheyworth1 thanks for the reply. Yes i was told by my clinic yestoday who called me back after i left them a message saying that i was concerned because i had started my period. I was never told initially that i would be bleeding and that this was normal or supposed to happen. Are you also doing the frozen egg transfer? I had a failed ivf so had two eggs frozen now on my second ivf im doing the frozen egg transfer.

Hi. No this is my first go at IVF so fingers are crossed that there are some eggs after I go on the stimulation drugs. Then take it from there really.

I have just been so frustrated as taking so long to down regulate me. I've been injecting Buserelin since 16th December.

I am now waiting for another bleed that needs to happen , never wanted to start a period before !!

Ohhh i see...i know its frustrating the drugs already make you feel all over the place and then things dont happen when they are supposed to which can infuriate a person.

I wish you lots of luck and i hope you bleed soon (never though ill be wishing this: for anyone-))) but what can you do this is ivf :-). I also hopw you will start the process soon and hopefully end up with great news at the end xx

I have just had my first scan to see if my ovaries are in downtime (which they are) but the day of my scan I had started to bleed again. When I asked at the clinic they said this was quite common with Buserelin inj and you can be on and off for a little while so don't worry all is okay and good luck

Hi bunnikins28 its great that you got good results from your scan. Im due for a scan on the 26th so fingers crossed. I hope i dont bleed on the day of the scan as on my last ivf treatment i was bleeding during a scan and i was just soooooooo unconfortable. I didnt even want to go through with it i felt discusting to be honest. I mean i feel sick looking at myself bleeding i dont how they cope at the clinic :-(. Anyway sorry im just having one of those moments which i have been havinh since starting ivf i wish you all the best for your treatment and keep us posted on how its progressing thanks xx

Hi Mellisa1983 well had one blastocyst transferred on the 9/2 and two frozen so well chuffed. I'm in my second wk of the 2ww. I did a stupid thing on Sunday and tested grrr so mad with myself now because it came back Neg and felt so low, but have picked myself up and trying to remain positive, back at work now so that's takes my mind off things roll on Sunday though dreading it as the same time!!! How are you have you had eggs collected yet Good Luck and fingers crossed as always xx

Hi bunnikins sorry to hear about your negative result but many women on here have got negative results when tested at home but ended up gettin positive at the clinic so maybe you tested too soon? ..so try not to worry.

As for me i just had two Frozen eggs transfered on monday so im on my 2ww as well. My first ivf failed last year so like yourself i had two blastocysts frozen and decided that with this treatment i might as well have them both put back. Let me know how u get on..xx
