Buserelin query

I wonder if anyone can help me with my query.I was previously prescribed buserelin for my first round of IVF, but ovulated prior to egg collection . Subsequent rounds used fyremadel.

I am now starting my first FET and have been prescribed it again. When I raised the previous issue with the nurse she said not to be concerned as it was doing a different job in a fet, but was vague on details. I just wondered if anyone could spread any light on this for me. What is its role in a fet? Should I be concerned to use it again?

I am prescribed to take it from day 18 of my cycle for about three weeks.

it can be used in different ways depending on timing of cycle and dosage.

I used it as an ovulation trigger for my FET (single high dose).

I used it for my trigger and had empty follicles. I've requested for something different for my 4th round as I'm convinced something was up with it xx

Yeah it was the first round I'd empty follicles and they thought I'd possibly ovulated early. But yeah something else to worry about lol was disappointed enough only having 4 good sized follicles never mind them being empty.

I also don't trust it as a trigger as on my first round I had 15 follicles and only got 5 eggs as they said most were empty. On my 2nd round with a different trigger I had the same number of follicles and got 13 eggs!

hi there,

Im taking it for my fet and it’s to keep my ovaries quiet as I tried last month with a fet and as I took the estrogen to thicken the lining , a follicle grew too and the cycle was cancelled. Hopefully the buserilin Will stop that happening this time xx

I took it to shut down my ovaries, I had a period then took other stuff to reboot my system. The round I used this down regulation in was successful. Wishing you the best xxx
