Pregnant test result after IVF but finding it hard to believe.

Hi all

Just got a pregnant result from the HPT that Oxford supplied and also a clearblue test, on the official test day after my 2WW.

Finding it difficult to believe it, after all my years of infertility, stage 4 endometriosis, constant pain, v v low AMH.

Had 2 x blastocysts implanted on Dec 1 - and am worried the result could be the HCG trigger shot..

I know there is a long way to go yet but am still shocked and in disbelief. This is first IVF and i am nearly 40..

Hope u r well..

Waaw congratulations YellowRose, what a wonderful news. You have got 2 positive test so you are definitely pregnant, with regards to the trigger shot it is cleared from your body by now. I think you will need little time to get over the surprise l am sure you must be over the the moon, by the way you describe it seems you didn't expect positive so well done you, really happy for you. Wish you healthy pregnancy xxx

Hi babylonia - thanks so much for quick reply and putting my mind at ease. Just opted out to Tesco to get another 2 tests, about to do those now. Well, will do 1 and do another later or tomorrow.

And yes, very very shocked after all these years of trying, 2 surgeries, damaged ovaries from recurring endometrioma, just overwhelmed right now.

Now i hope these embies stay and cant wait for the viability scan..

You have been through a lot so i totally understand your disbelieve. I was pretty shock when i got my positive although i was strongly hoping as the doctor give 60% success which was really good. I am currently 11 weeks and waiting impatiently for my 12 week scan and thats tge best experience which makes you realise that you are pregnant. Wish you best of luck for your scan, take care of yourself and enjoy your pregnancy ;)

Thanks so much. I just did a clear blue digital and it says 2-3 weeks. Overwhelmed.

Congrats on your positive too, it feels so bizarre doesn't it. Have you had symptoms?

Hope you are well. When is your 12 wk scan, let us know how it goes and all the best to you too. Thx xxx

Thanks hun, thats great news. I didn't have symptoms only my nipples were constantly swell after the positive result which was more of progesterone side affect. After 7 weeks till now not a single symptom, it easy to forget that i am pregnant, if it wasn't my 9 week scan i would be mad from worry which i am still until i have my next scan which will presumably fall around week 13 because of the holidays it really busy. I will keep updated. Today is your special day so i think you your hubby should celebrate it ;)

in reply tobabylonia

Thanks so much. We will celebrate, we havent had much to celebrate for the last couple of years because i have been so unwell from endo, but i have really taken care of myself, well, on and off. But do think its helped.

I am already worrying about everything but will try to enjoy the moment. I think its hard not to worry when I am so alert to all my issues in my abdomen. I have stage 4 endo, adenomyosis, bowel issues, endo on the ureter. its all very worrying but i will try my best. Keep me updated on your progress too xx

I'm 14weeks today the scan is amazing and so clear my next step is the midwife on the 22nd for the heartbeat can't wait for that as other than having a bump don't feel pregnant still can't believe it lol I have stopped doing tests now ha ha i think it was after 7years of trying I just couldn't believe I was seeing it right I'm just mad lol enjoy the feeling xxx

in reply toBrimblemissy123

Yes, has been 7 years for us too, since 2008 and a little before that too.

wow to 14 weeks, amazing isn't it. And yes, I don't feel any different other than alot of tummy pain (usual for me) and alot of loose bowels, sorry TMI but have been so worried about that. But it eased yesterday. Goodluck with the midwife. Just typing that, thinking i may see one in a few months is so strange. Gosh I hope I hold onto this. xx

I'm so happy for you yellow rose :) Huge congratulations to you and your hubby :) Best Xmas pressie ever whoop whoop :) Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy :) Enjoy it you've gone through a lot to get this Xxxxx

Thanks so much Jess..I hope this gives you hope. If it can happen for me, then there are good chances for everyone. I know it's not a given yet and i am anxious but it's still a lovely feeling xx

Wow congrats to you....enjoy the moments on way. What have docs said?

in reply to

Thanks so much. Will call Oxford today to inform them. They scan at 2 to 3 weeks after the test. So I am going to be reserved about it till then, self preservation and all that - but its hard not to be excited.

OH MY!! Best Friday news ever. BRILLIANT news! So happy for you, after everything you've been through. Just enjoy the moment and relax a little. Yes as you say you've a long way to go. But don't worry. Just enjoy it my lovely. Take care and rest when you can. I found the week after my 2ww I was exhausted. Assume you're going to have a blood test too so they can get your hcg score, which doubles every 48 hours in early stages, so you've got to go doctors for those I presume. Ah brilliant. Really fab news xx

in reply toHope23

Thanks so much Hope. Yes, going to take in the moment and enjoy it. This doesnt happen every day, does it!

Gosh, good point re the hcg score, I totally forgot about that. Do the GPs do that on NHS?

Who tested yours? GP? xx

Well I had mine done at local surgery because my clinic is in Barcelona! But yr clinic may do it themselves. My clinic didn't want just a urine test they wanted me to follow that up with blood results of hcg hormone. Then after 2-3 days you get another one done so they can check it's rising well. But protocol is different at every clinic. Maybe ring and ask. I just made appointment for a blood pregnancy test. And no don't pay! You could just be going to doctors/surgery nurse as if you fell pregnant naturally after all. They didn't charge me and I had two in the week after my 2ww and another two after the miscarriage and I didn't pay for one

It's such great news. You have got yourself some lovely strong eggs there Mrs! Woop woop!!! Xx

Brilliant news!

I kept my two tests... they're in my bathroom cabinet. It's not like I need them to reassure me though because at 30 weeks I am very definitely still pregnant! It's wonderful and after all those years ...

in reply tojsth1979

haha, thats so funny - I am going to keep mine too. Congrats on the 30 weeks, that just wonderful. xx

hi thought I would add to your many lovely posts - you know im happy I am for you both,.. xx

Wow congratulations!! That's amazing news :-) it gives me so much hope as my Endometriosis almost destroyed my ovaries, uterus & bladder. I had adhesions from the bladder to the uterus as well & have a very low AMH. They removed my Endo last year and now we are starting our first IVF this month. Soo nervous and excited, just hoping for a miracle baby :-)

Wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy xx
