HRT Patch given due to Progynova not doing well....

Hi I am on a medicated FET which started on 02.02.14. I went for a scan Tuesday and she upped my Progynova dose to 8mg instead of 6 and asked me to come back today. I went back today and womb is only 7mm and was 6.5mm on Tuesday. My doctor has prescribed me with HRT patches I have to put on two today then two on Sunday then see her Monday. If it hasnt thickened enough by then she says we will have to stop. If we have to stop then I have to wait until my next period to start it again but this time without the Buserelin injections. She said its just one of those things but I wondered if anyone has experienced this or can understand this because its slightly frustrating! The one thing I would say is on day 1 of period (when I started buserelin) my period extended longer than usual and I bled for about 7 days so im inclined to think that because it became so thin its now struggling to thicken? X

Hi crystal2013. As your doctor says – “it can happen”! Sometimes ovaries just don’t like being down regulated, and the alternative solution is to “skip” that process and go straight into stimulation. You still have to have a little of the Buserelin to prevent any possibility of over stimulation, but hopefully if you have to go down that route (short protocol) it will work better for you. However, you’ve still got a couple of days for your endometrium to thicken up, so fingers crossed the patches do the trick. I wish you well and good luck! Diane

As expected Diane it has been cancelled today. Womb wasnt geting any thicker since being on the patches. Next period she is going to monitor me naturally for that cycle to see if we can do s natural FET the following cycle. I have mild PCOS. I have different cycle lengths it could be 4 weeks or 5 and sometimes go on for 6 weeks but I ovulate each time naturally. If natural FET no good what would she recommend next? Are there different doses she can try if it has to be medicated? X
