7 weeks brown spotting and cramps 😢

hello ladies,

I hope you’re all ok. I’m 7 weeks today after ivf (previously two early miscarriages) and I’ve started having quite a lot of brown discharge and cramps.

This for me ended in a mmc last time so I’m absolutely beside myself with worry and trying to be realistic. I have a scan on Tuesday.

I haven’t really had any pregnant symptoms either aside from the occasional bit of feeling “off”.

I know I have to be realistic but I also wanted to cling on to a little bit of hope. Has anyone had similar and it been ok?

I’m on clexane and steroids this time, as well as cyclogest (rectally) and lubion.

Hey I know how worrying this is. I also had this at seven weeks. We were on holiday and I was a nervous wreck. I never really got to the bottom of it, I think some of it was because my cervix was irritated during sex and I think some of it was just pregnancy .. anyway either way it stopped within a week and when I had a scan at 8+5 everything was ok. Heaps of luck xx

Oh love I so hope this works out for you! I had loads of mild cramping until about 9 weeks and now at 18 weeks without issue. Perhaps a positive that’s it’s brown spotting and no fresh bleeding? Definitely worth contacting your local EPU for a scan and I am wishing so so much luck x

I know it’s so hard but try not to stress too much.

There’s loads of other reasons for brown discharge. The steroids will also mask any pregnancy symptoms - I literally had none.

thank you ☺️ it got quite heavy last night and the cramps are pretty painful. My last two miscarriages have been around the same time so I really am feeling hopeless but thank you for taking the time to reply xx

Oh love, when you’ve experienced it before your mind just goes straight there doesn’t it.

I really hope that you’re wrong - it could be a haematoma which are really common in ivf pregnancies for some reason 🤷🏼‍♀️
