Dear everyone, Can you please tell me what did your clinic suggested to stop medications? My clinic said 12 weeks and when I called the obstetrician today to see if I have to carry on with blood thinners he said he normally suggest at least 14 weeks... but he wouldnt prescribe any medications as I am not under his care yet as he didnt see me yet, and my clinic says they only suggest until 12 weeks and I am not under their care anymore so the can't prescribe me anymore and nobody is telling me if I should carry on with blood thinners... 😔 I have medications until next Thursday and nobody is telling me what to do... 😔
Can anybody have any suggestion?

Hi. Now you are twelve weeks, your body will be taking over, producing everything you need to support your baby withe the exception of Folic acid. Check with your GP or midwife about blood thinners. Hope all continues as it should. Diane
Thank you Diane! I can't reach my midwife for days, couldnt get a GP appointment, they said to call monday morning but not 100% I can get an appointment as its very difficult to get one and my Claxane runs out next Thursday so not sure what to do if I can't get the appointment...
Hi, first of all congratulations. I am 12 weeks today and when my clinic discharged me after the 7 week scan they told me to stop my medication at 12 weeks. Cold turkey!!
They told me to check whether I should also stop the blood thinning injection at my 12 week scan which was on Thursday. The midwife said I can stop but I should go on to 150mg of aspirin a day. Xx
Yes they should do. They looked through my maternity notes and said I only had 2 ticks against the risk rating and they see no reason for me to continue. I’ll start the aspirin tomorrow once I’ve taken my last Inhixa today. I am really nervous about stopping everything, especially as there’s so many different approaches used by clinics etc. But I guess I got to try and just trust the professionals and my body now. Xx
Exactly the same experience for me as Crie1983. Clinic advised stop clexane at 12 weeks. Then at my 12 week scan a week later at 13 weeks the midwife advised to start 150mg of baby aspirin.
My midwife told me doctors are afraid of pregnancy and won’t prescribe anything unless a consultant advises them to! 🙈
Because I had no blood apparent clotting issues, just some genetic predispositions (PAI-1 4G/5G), I stopped my heparin and aspirin after 12 weeks when I ran out. I'm 23 weeks now and baby is happily kicking around. Although, my IVF Dr said I can continue with baby aspirin if I wanted to.
